Plan to apply rejex immediately after pick up my MY06 997 in a few weeks. Any comment, recommandation, tips, etc. Thanks
Before you apply the Rejex, strip the paint surface of any residual wax, shipping coatings, etc. with a good wash with a dish washing detergent like Dawn. You want the Rejex to bond to the paint, not to the wax on the paint. This will extend the useful life of the coating to 6-9 months.
Since the car is new, there will be little embedded debris in the paint, so Claying the surface won't hurt, but may not be necessary.
The key to getting a good Rejex coating is to do the application in the shade, with a surface temp & air below 85? F. Rejex goes on and off very easily, no buffing is necessary, but it is critical to let the car sit for 12 hours (overnight) in the shade, to allow the material to cure.
Be sure to coat the insides of your wheels with Rejex (you will probably have to take them off, and clean them with a stronger cleaner to get the cosmoline and other residue off). You will be glad you went to the extra effort, as the insides of the wheels will stay much cleaner than if you just let the go.
Also give your windshield a good coating of Rejex, so that bug splats will be minimized.
