pls tell us what you decided and your impressions on PDK Turbo
The Turbo PDK really is a fantastic car. I drove a Turbo (first generation) with 6 gears some time ago, but this car is totally different. With the PDK the Turbo really shines. No turbo lag, no delay or something, just pure and instant power, with a very decent sound by the way. This engine and this transmission were meant to be.
Yet the car is very comfortable and you can use it every day. My test car had winter tyres of course, but even with those it felt great on the road.
Accelerating has something like warp drive if you know what I mean, something I experienced before only with the 599 GTB, I think that says it all.
The partly new interior is an improvement as well, espially the new PCM and the new centre console in black with those tiny little chrome accents do look great. The grey plastic in the first generation cars looks cheap in comparison. And a really big step forward is the optional steering wheel with paddles. Yes, the paddles are not as good as the ones that are fixed to the steering column and yes you don't use them as much as in a Ferrari for example, but they are easy to use (my finger didn't get in trouble because the paddles sit to close at the back of the steering wheel) and they feel great. And so does the whole steering wheel, again the silver chrome accents do look so much better than the grey plastic of the standard wheel and it is this silver that fits perfectly to the rest of the interior like air vents for example and finally the interior or the 997 looks all of a piece with this steering wheel.
Last but not least the standard Turbo wheel looks fanstastic, so much better than the first generation wheel and also better than the optional RS style wheels, but that is highly subjective of course.
