The pic is a very interesting reveal of the C63 exhaust system.
Notice the number of right angle bends.
Those rob the engine of breathing freely. The straighter the exhaust passages the more power, its that simple. The more bends and the sharper the bends are, in they C63 they look 90 degrees and many of them!, the more power you do not get. I am sure thy looked "orderly" in the engineering drawings but for performance they suck big time!
I am amazed that Mercedes AMG would choose to do that.

Am a huge fan of rennteam b/c of all the divergent/convergent, curmudgeonly views/insights/datapoints from the various car nuts on this rather global board....great stuff....
Now, if only this "astute" journalist had been driving an R8 w/a Luddite box and all the vaporware options, this silliness wouldn't have happened....he'd casually have achieved a "rumored" 7:30 NBR....and wait until that V10 RS-squared comes out w/even more vaporware
....F/P/AMG should just sell their businesses (to some Chinese/Dubai investor perhaps? ) before VW and the vaunted Audi R&D team kill their businesses....
