    Michelin cup on wet track

As i've been on the Ring under terrible weather conditions this wk-end, i could test and get an idee of how the car is acting under wet conditions.

Well pretty ruf exercice but really worthit and satisfy result.

I coul see that you really have to drive like on eggs.

Have to be precise in every litle movements. Braking hard but not to much, looking that your steering weehl is streight while you brake, reaccelerating once you are out the curve and really progressavely.

If you push the accelerator to brutal then you are good for a 360*

I still have difficulties with keeping the car straight once i lost the back. Really hard but i'll keep learning.

Anyway great car that has to be treated with respect and to be handel like a beast.

Just cool, i love it and i'm really happy for the investment.

The tire under dry conditions = Fabulous, nothing to reproche.

Great experience it has been for me and now i'll keep up the learning course with a Gt3

Re: Michelin cup on wet track

I 've also put michelin cup tires to my 997s and they are not bad. The ABS comes very quickly when braking because the michelin need a lot o warm up, the noise level has also increased and the ride has become firmer, but the grip difference is so great that I don't care about these things.

A friend of mine has told me that the Hoosier semi slicks are a lot better by the way. I will try them next year!

Re: Michelin cup on wet track

Hi Cram, i have a different question relative to your track experiences: how long do tires resist on the track? What about braking? Do you need to have your car serviced after a track day?

Cram, I'm sure you'll enjoy this: the Master himself driving a 997 GT3 (of course in Speed Yellow ) on the wet Nordschleife - watch out for the steering action, simply unbelievable

how long do tires resist on the track? depend on the weather conditions. By dry and sunny tires like the Michelin can last 2 days or maybe 3, but rather 2

What about braking? The brakes will resist longer but also it'll depend of how hard and often you'll use them. I would say 3 times 2 days.

Do you need to have your car serviced after a track day? Not a full service but it's good if you do a small check and clean the hole from the discs. Like Oil, tire pressure and discs

i hope i could answers to your questions and if somebody is more specific then i, then feel free.

    Enjoy and have fun.

That would be more than 1000 years Obviously, he said that he has driven 9 million kilometres. Even that is immense.
Great action behind the wheel. Then the back comes out, he counter steers - the video shows incredible reactions and steering wheel positions - and steps on the gas to hold the drift and avoid getting grip. The tricky part is at the end of the drift to get the wheel back to neutral position in time. I also like his comments about the Cup tires at that speed in the rain. Something like "this is far too much for a normal human being, if you don't do that regularly you are bound to fail 100%"
