    Not bad, yet a new car of that class (ie 500hp+0 should have a 7.3x handle these days...

    Suspension setup and automated gearbox have reportedly been improved over the V8 model, both more compliant on the V10 car. Car featured sport suspension, Pirelli P Zero 01 (which seem to be improved reg. dry grip, less so reg. wet tarmac) and ceramic brakes.

    Kreso, what is Audi´s own laptime for the R8 V10?

    They even made the announcement of a lightened performance, orientated version, being 120 kgs lighter than the regular V10 (1660 kg).

    TT-RS seems to be a close rival to the Cayman in performance (1.15 vs. 1.14,3 min. Hockenheim) with great straight-line performance (0-200 in 17,5 sec.) but too much weight on front axle and therefore significant understeer.

    That widely publicized LP560 number is highly suspect and was claimed to be due to ABS and tire issues.  No way the R8 V10 is faster than the LP, which has the same but more powerful engine and less weight.  I am sure that if the LP test was done again it would be a 7:3X time.  Speaking of suspect times, shall I even mention the GTR times???

    i would have thought audi would do better on the V10. i find the V8 an underperformer and the V10 could have been more as well.

    Hmm... You missed our discussion here some time ago about LP560-4 Supertest?

    Sport Auto used 4(!!!) different examples of LP560-4 and NONE were able to do the Ring below 7.52min with Corsa tires... In fact Sport Auto requested fifth(!!!) example from Lamborghini but, they declined. Lamborghini unofficially claim that rear suspension on all examples were not as good as it should be...

    Auto Bild Sportscar edition drove one of that examples(Verde Ithaka) on Ring also and achieved even slower time in hands of professional race driver(Sascha Bert).

    It is a KNOWN fact amoung Audi quattro Gmbh technical stuff that R8 V10 is faster on all tracks then LP560-4.

    Maybe new LP550-2 could be faster? At least that is what I heard from my source...

    I woudnt mind if it is slower as a GT3-2.

    The R8 is so much more GT as race car and for this it is insane fast. Further on, you have all daily advantages on that car. And at last, this car looks still just stunning!

    It seems the only downside with the Audi R8 V10 is that it loses out in everyday practicality...

    Audi R8 V10 5.2 Quattro: 100 litres (front boot) + 90 litres (behind the seats) = 190 litres

    2010 Porsche Cayman S: 150 litres (front boot) + 260 litres (rear boot) = 410 litres
