    Change Of Job???

    What do you guys think of this??

    A Mid-Aged guy spent the night in jail because he was caught speeding. His car? Lambo Gallardo
    His speed? He now holds the record for the fastest person caught speeding at 240km/h. this may not sound like much but the limit on our "national" roads are 120km/h..
    Apparently he was racing some kind of bike, which got away..

    His car collection consists of 3 Lambos EXCLUDING the galla, 2 Ferraris, and 2 mercs, one of which is the new slk55...
    Whats his profession??? Surgeon? Accountant?
    No...Strip Club Owner

    you must be talking about lolly jackson, i read it on the newspaper this morning too, quite hilarious to be more precise he was caught doing 249km/h or 155mp/h. if he had gone 20kph faster the camera's can't catch him(saw it on top gear )

    I will remember this when I come to Cape Town in October, you said above 270 km/t there is no risk for getting cought by the speed camera ??

    Yes... if your doing 270 or faster the cameras wont catch you...
    I read it in he papers this morning as well.

    He's Not Happy Mike... He just looks like that all the time...ROFL...

    I think the reason why the cameras wont catch you is because it starts to applaud!

    That could be a trick becuase depending on the radar model they are using on you some have a max velocity as low as 250km/h but some go well over 300km/h, not to mention LIDAR guns which are even worse... so I wouldn't trust that

    (In Spain most radars are french Multanova 6F that emit in Ka band and reach 250km/h but they have also Poltech Lasercam LIDAR guns that reach up to 320km/h)

    Gosh! I would have to pay a fortune and lose my license for months to drive just 30 km/h more than 120 km/h on the Autobahn in Switzerland.

    It's absolutely unjustifiable to drive so fast.


    By the way, did you ever drive 240 km/h in an open convertible? I did it last week. The Autobahn in Germany was so busy I couldn't drive faster.

    MMD - Great picture, where did you get it from? I grew up not to far from there(same county)...and I even got a picture in front of that same placard once! It was all a big misunderstanding of course...

    It was great fun. Warm weather and not too much traffic. It's amazing you have so little turbulences at that speed. The main issue at that speed is the noise of the wind. You wouldn't drive a longer distance at that speed. I closed the top after half an hour and could manage to drive up to 270 km/h. My car was much more stable than some weeks ago I described in a thread. I suppose it's because of less side wind and additionally I had about 15 kg luggage in the front.

    By the way I was driving on the A5 from Frankfurt to Basel.

    So at 270 it still had a little bit left? or was it maxed and the manufacturer's claims are once again off

    No, no, I was not at full throttle. There was just too much traffic to accelerate even more. I think this car is as fast as they are saying.

    Can't wait to try Vmax later on.

    I achieve top speed in my 996 cab with the open top, 286 kmh on the digital speedometer and Seven is right, with the windshot there is minimal turbulence in the cockpit, it's very impressive but the noise is just ridiculou, obviously, actually, above 150 kmh, the noise pretty much makes you have to shout to have a conversation, it's a good speed limiter!
    But it's very tiring on the motorway (because of wind noise) and in city centers (because of car noises and fumes), bliss on country roads!

    Yeah Seven, that's one reason why I want to drive it on the autobahn.

    I also plan to take it to the track occasionally in California.

    Thanks, I already spend too much time in prison during the work week.
