bluelines:SciFrog:For $20k more than the 4C the Spyder shows well... I would still pick the Alfa with no hesitation. Why? Same idea as above. For a manual toy, I want light, convertible and raw feel even if imperfect, and cheaper is to consider too. The GT4 will always be in the shadow of the 997 GT3 RS. The spyder in that regard is more unique but it is not light enough.
We are all driven by personal choices
My personal choices have 10 counterarguments for your's, but such is the nature of personal choices.
So when are you getting your 4C Spyder?
That would be the day the V8 roadster is gone and that ain't happening anytime soon, that car is just too beautiful and sounds like nothing else or if the mini goes and it's my wife's so that ain't happening either. No room for a 7th car but if there was a 7th the 4C would be it
(the only exception would be a TdF at MSRP but that ain't happening either).

Yes it does, it has the Sport Design kit or whatever they call it. I quite like it. I would remove the 911 Carrera GTS lettering as it's too much. Hmm, not sure why the quote function didn't work but anyway, yes it has a duck tail...
It frequently doesn't work. This appears to be my lucky day, so maybe I should buy a lottery ticket.

The quote function is a bit tricky at times but in defense of the forum software programmer, the editor is CKEditor, a third party product and yes, it sometimes drives me mad.

I have encountered the same problem as well, from time to time.

It's a long-standing probl .........um, issue.
Just keep telling yourself "It's not a fault, it's a feature".

The 4C pedals are seemingly insanely far apart . I wear a size 12 shoe. However given that this car is dual clutch only, they are clearly encouraging you to left foot brake. Hope your rally / carting skills are fresh.
Hate the steering wheel.
Please excuse the hairy legs.
Next-gen Alfa Romeo 4C Spider reportedly cancelled due to slow sales
Citing AutoForecast Solutions, Autoline is reporting the next-generation of the 4C has been cancelled. There's some debate as to whether or not this means both the coupe and convertible are getting the axe but, in either case, it doesn't sound too promising.
Alfa Romeo never expected the car to be a massive hit but U.S. sales have reportedly failed to meet expectations as the company has only sold 309 4C Spiders this year. This is only 11 more than the Dodge Viper which is going out of production shortly.
If the report is correct, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider - and possibly 4C Coupe - will cease to exist in 2020.
SciFrog:What a shame, such a great car...
I don't get it either. However, last time I saw one actually driving on the road, it was months ago.
Also, my local Alfa Romeo dealer has three new in stock (corrected my post...thought he had only two), one Coupe and two Spiders. The Spiders are 80k and 84k EUR, ouch. The Coupe is 68k. Too expensive!
Alfa Romeo has a bad image in Germany and I think that this has never changed. I also think that the 4C is too expensive for many "typical" Alfa Romeo buyers over here, as weird as this may sound.
The Coupe would sell well for 45k, the Spider for 50k. Right now, prices are somewhere around 65k and above.
I always considered the 4C to be a "Mini Ferrari" and I think Alfa Romeo wanted to give the 4C the same image but they failed, at least over here.
Like I said before, I've seen maybe one car live on the road a couple of months ago, another one last year and thats it. During my vacation in Italy, I haven't seen a single car in Italy, which I found pretty weird. Saw tons of Boxsters and 911s instead though.
What a shame, such an interesting concept and car.
Now I ask myself: How does Alfa Romeo want to sell their new Giulia Quadriflogio? This car can cost 90k EUR and more. The high hp output won't be enough to sell this car. My dealer has one in stock for 70k and pretty loaded. New.
Btw: I also have my doubts about the new Fiat 124 Spider, especially the Abarth version. Way too expensive in my opinion and it doesn't exactly look good, I like the Mazda MX-5 better.
The 4C could become a collectible at some point but I understand why it failed.

Gnil:I see a few around my area , and each time I encounter them , I am impressed of how it looks on the road . A great little Ferrari . This car will become a collectable .
I really like the 4C and I think it is a very nice car but I also understand why it wasn't successful.
1.8 l turbo charged 4-cyl. with 240 hp only...not exactly Ferrari territory. This car is neither the perfect track tool nor a poor man's Ferrari...this is actually the problem.
There could be good deals out there for the 4C over the next couple of months, especially in the winter but I truly expect this car to become a collectible at some point. Not many have been produced and it is really a special car.

I only see them very rarely in or around Zürich.
In Switzerland there are 95 for sale on the used market. In comparison, there are 78 GT3 and GT3 RS from all years for sale.

Ouch. Probably dealer cars? My Alfa Romeo dealer here in my vicinity is very small and has two Spiders and one Coupe, which is a lot. When I visited him a year or so ago, he didn't have a single car in stock.
How fast things can change...
Still...84k for a Spider is some serious money. Many would prefer a Boxster or Audi TT RS instead.

Indeed, in real life it really looks exotic , a collectable, no doubt about it.
This 4C concept remind me the Lotus Elan from 1995 with it´s furious 1.6L Turbo engine making 170Hp and light weight, it was by far the best sports model at time on that class and it had also the go kart drive spirit everybody loved.

I had the Alfa Workshop front suspension mod done on my car last week and it has transformed the behaviour on uneven road surfaces. If Alfa had set the car up like this from the start the press reviews would have been much more positive. The 4 cylinder engine provides more than enough power IMHO as this car is not about outright speed but it "feels" very fast.
The pricing is certainly an issue for the spider which does not seem to be selling well here either. A dealer local to me has two in stock and I can't see them selling any time soon at the high asking prices. Had Alfa re-established itself first with the Giulia QV and then brought out the 4C then things might have been different. Indeed FCA might have been wise to have badged the car as a Lancia and sold it as a modern successor to the Stratos then brought out a new Delta using the Giulia platform on the back of it.
It will certainly become a future classic though, of that I have no doubt.
