    McLaren planning to introduce one new model per year for the next five years

    In order to achieve a total production of 4,500 units, McLaren is set to introduce one model per year for the next five years. These words came from McLaren North American chief Tony Joseph who also added that the British manufacturer already built a prototype of an upcoming vehicle. Currently, McLaren plans to sell 1,000 units of the MP4-12C in its first year of production, but due to the demand for this car it appears that this number will be easily achieved.

    The next model will be the MP4-12C convertible. In my product info about the 12C this car was already mentioned.

     Meh, nothing to write home about. Given we knew they'd have 2 models, it's pretty much a given that each would have a convertible form and a more track oriented form. My guess is:

    12C, 12C Roadster, 12C-R, F1, F1 Roadster, F1-R.

     why you dont think they ll be able to sell 1000 MP4s?

     

    1- Service/maintenance/spare part worries. Their dealers network is relatively new.

    2- The Lotus looks.

    It will do well in Europe but i'm not sure if they can do the same else where. I'll be surprised if they manage to sell 750 cars the in first year.

    Don't you believe the bs they are saying about strong demand. They were saying that during the SLR era and we all know that wasn't true at all!!
