    Standard Cayman model

    Porsche will in August launch the standard Cayman model with 250bhp, according to Autobild magazine.

    Old news?

    BTW: I heard that the "standard" Cayman gets the same engine as in the "standard" Boxster, meaning: 240 HP instead of 250 HP. This helps to reduce cost and to offer the Cayman at a very attractive price tag (but still slightly over Boxster price tag).

    Would be preferable to have a better price for the cost of 10hp, though bearing in mind they resisted using the boxster s engine in the cayman s wouldn't that make the price of a 240hp cayman a lot lower than the S model (creating a bigger price gap between the standard and S model than their equivalents in the the boxster or 997 ranges) as won't have the fig leaf of more power or bigger engine to justify the price differential to the standard boxster.
