You really don't want to see the BBC Top Gear review of the 997S. It consists of 10 minutes of Jeremy Clarkson berating the 997S as being too similar to the 996. He called it a lazy effort. He said the 997 was for middle aged men to have a mid-life crisis in it.
The best, most impartial review I have ever seen was by Tiff Needell on a programme called 5th Gear which appears in the UK on Five. If you can get a video clip of that, you will find it really objective and very informative.

Did you see all of it
He goes on to say the 996 was "more like a place where a fat middelaged bold man could have his mid-life chrisis", and the samme about the 997 non-S. About the S, and especially the S with Sport Chrono is an all different story, and if anything, it's interesting that the "beefed ut VW beetle" Porsche hater Jeremy Clarkson actually loves the car..
And naturally, you don't watch Top Gear to get unbiased comments, you watch it because it is entertaining. It's actually kinda fun to hear all the times JC makes a funny comment that any car enthusiast knows is BS, like that Porsche wouldn't bother with a 4wd system for the 997 because it's too good allready (I know, I know, I've watched that episode too many times..
).So if you want an unbiased (and far less entertaining) review watch 5th gear and Tiff (who BTW would rather like a Boxster than a 911..

dillinger the thing is i do not have the link of the video. i took it from a flash disk of a friend.(it is 657MB movie. which is 1h33minutes long(very technical video also has some track comparisons with 996tt and other cars). but if you want i can burn a cd for you and send it to your adress since we are neighbour countries it wont be that hard. if you are still interested send me mail adress and let me now
