Below or at dealer invoicing possible?

Anyone here purchase a 997 or 997s at dealer invoice or less? I am wondering what to expect if I take the plunge on a base model 997 or 997s. I looked used ones but dealers ask almost as much as new! Any how my only wants are arctic silver maybe seal grey with a black interior. The only option I would like to have is navigation. I am a cheap bastard!

    Thanks
    Ralph

For 997/997s, there is around 10k profit on the base model cars. However, I don't think you can get 10k off on the base model. You should be happy to get $4-5k off (5% off). Let me know if you can find on even at invoice, I would like to get another one.

Re: Below or at dealer invoicing possible?

When I started my P-car research I came across a handsome looking Midnight Blue/Beige interior C2S at a local dealership. I've now decided that when I take the P-car plunge I will be ordering one to my specs. Originally I asked the salesman if they discounted the cars off MSRP and he told me no. Well, its been about two full months now since I was doing that initial research and just last week the salesperson called to tell me that they really want to sell that C2S and for me to make a resonable offer! My feeling is that with MY07s coming off the factory line the local dealer is trying to move his MY06 stock.

You may have some luck with the price if you find a MY06 on a lot with the options you can live with.

    Good luck!

Damit! This is not what I want to hear. I am stuck between a 996tt or a 997. Makes it easier if I can get dealer price! Just lie to me damit. I love the look of the 997. The 996tt 01 is pretty much done depreciating. I mean besides a little here and there.

Re: Below or at dealer invoicing possible?

CPU77, get the car you happy with and don't concern about the price too much. After all, 996tt and 997 both are very good car and you can't go wrong. As for the pricing, you will be very lucky to get around 5% off on the base model. Good luck.

Re: Below or at dealer invoicing possible?

If you find a 2006 in the color and with the majority of options you want make an offer of the base price. The dealer may be willing to "eat" the options in order to sell the vehicle.

If you are not lazy, you can find an amazing deal on a 997. Firstly, check www.edmunds.com for invoice pricing. Secondly, start looking at the inventory of every dealer in the U.S. Yes, it will take time, but there is no reason you'd have to pay more than $2,000 over invoice.

$2000 over invoice? When I ordered my 997S (summer '06), it was impossible to get more than $4k (4-5%) off the purchase price of the car. I'm sure better deals can be had now, but quite frankly, I doubt you can do a 997 at invoice, or even $2k above. YMMV, but let me know if you do find one at invoice!
