    *REVISED* AMS High-speed Test Data

    The recent issue of AMS includes some very interesting high-speed performance data again. Please note that there have been some (substantial) changes compared to the ealier TV special in AMS TV.

    0-200 in seconds:

    BMW M6: 13.2
    Corvette Z06: 11.9
    Gallardo SL: 12.8
    SLR 722: 11.1
    GT3: 13.9
    Ruf Rt12: 10.3


    0-300 in seconds:

    BMW M6: 51.1
    Corvette Z06: 46.9
    Gallardo SL: 44.2
    SLR 722: 35.8
    GT3: 47.5
    Ruf Rt12: 27.6


    Top-speed in kph:

    BMW M6: 309
    Corvette Z06: 314
    Gallardo SL: 314
    SLR 722: 328
    GT3: 316
    Ruf Rt12: 361


    Lap time / handling course:

    BMW M6: 58.8s
    Corvette Z06: 56.6s
    Gallardo SL: 55.0s (sport tires)
    SLR 722: 57.7s
    GT3: 56.6s (sport tires)
    Ruf Rt12: 55.4s

    Revision speak for itself...

    BTW, regarding Gallardo SL handling time, I heard the same rumor-that Gallardo SL and new 997 GT2 are faster around Nordschliefe then RUF RT12(+700hp or not) on Continental tires...

    Honestly: I was very positively surprised by the Rt12's handling time in this test. Very, very close to Gallardo SL (and faster than GT3 on sports tires!) despite the "standard" tires on the Rt12... With Michelin Cup tires the Rt12 should be as fast or faster than the SL... And this on a very tight track. On the NBR or other fast tracks the Rt12 is even likely to be faster than the Gallardo SL or 997GT2 based on the above AMS test results.

    BTW: Another argument for ordering the Rt12 with shorter gearing (and a max speed of just 330kph). A lower top-speed enlarges the range of tires available

    The price is around 260k plus VAT (of course, depending on the options you choose)...

    good track time for the Gallardo

    a 6 second difference between this test and another for 0-300 times of cars like the Gallardo, Z06 and SLR can be attributed to the weather, no?

    We only did a test of the standard 520hp Gallardo. This car did 0-300 in about 41-43s. The SL might suffer a bit from its worse aerodynamics. Thus, the AMS data seems about right

    CGT1178 from Kuwait has posted a GPS measured 0-300 in 33.6s for a Digitec ecu tuned 997TT. Pretty impressive, especially since it was 38+C out.
