Factory GT3 Front Bumper Conversion for 997

I am considering adding a Factory GT3 Front Bumper Conversion to my 997 Carrera S. My question is ... will I regret it? The look of the front bumper is stylish and more aggressive. I am fearing I will damage it because of the reduced ground clearance. Anyone have any thoughts on this and know the difference in ground clearance between the Carrera S and the GT3 bumper on a 997? Thanks

If you are still undecided, I would recommend against it. Why mess with such a beautiful shape? The front and rear ends of your car are made to match, just as the front and rear of the GT3 are designed to match.

Re: Factory GT3 Front Bumper Conversion for 997

I've seen it done, too expensive to get all factory parts.

Is that the suncoast site? Try carnewal.com it may be cheaper.

Same ground clearance as the aerokit, its quite low and will scrape occasionally even if you are quite careful. The bottom lip is very flexible (will bend quite a lot, at least with the aerokit) though and not so prices to get replaced so its not so bad.

Car can look unbalanced and potentially (as porsche claims) perform in an unbalanced manner if the front is fitted without the rear spoiler.

Moogle - I gather I will need to follow through with the rear spolier. I do agree with finishing the look front and back.

Flagg - Appreciate the link to the other post. Do you have any pictures of your P-car with the Aero-kit? I prefer the GT3 front bumper beacuse of the flexible lip. Does P recommend the GT3 front bumper with the Aerokit wing? If so, I wont have to change my sport exhaust. I prefer to keep it or add OEM.

The aerokit front lip is very flexible, I think its just as flexible as the GT3 lip. The GT3 bumper does look better though cause of the black vents on top and the colored lip.

Flagg - Your car looks great. I like the color combination with the red interior. I was surprised to see the automatic - do you deal with a lot of traffic?

Re: Factory GT3 Front Bumper Conversion for 997

I sure do unfortunately I still regret not getting a manual though, would really have been much more fun.

    Thanks for the compliments!
