Well, I have seen Dacia in other places....
What I meant is that one way to read this add is Porsche is way too expensive...Which we can agree to, at least for some of their options
The other is: you'll never be able to afford a Porsche but here is the Dacia...
We obviously think this is a funny add because we are on the Pcar side (granted not all with PCCBs
)...but as a prospective cheap car customer, is this ad make the Dacia appealing to you?

It does, actually. It's a dirt cheap proper car. While it certainly won't be turning any heads or even do anything above 170 km/h, its value is apparent.
Think about it. You can own a 911 and a Cayenne, but none of them is really liked by most customers. Drive up in this and nobody will really notice it at all.

I believe there was some controversy a while ago centered around it's crash worthiness - specifically that it is awful for a new design - it compares unfavourably with cars 10 years older!

I say, better to crash in a dated car than be run over by a truck because you couldn't afford a car

The fact it even managed a star (the link posted said three) makes it much better than many of it's chinese counterparts. If I remember correctly, Renault is the only car manufacturer to manage 5 "real" stars, ie. without the silly extra points they started to award out for seat belt reminders and such..

I wrote this specific example in my marketing exam this week !!!!
It was a great example of how some brands try to accentuate their competitive advantage as much as possible !!!!, How companies try to differ from their competitors!!!!
