Your figures of 991 Turbo are very close to 997.2 Turbo. Very small improve over last generation...

What do you expect? 918 performance? Smiley

The straight line performance improvements are pretty good, 0-300 kph improvement will be even better and of course the 991 Turbo will do much better on the track than the 997 Turbo.

918 will be far better - in LF and P1 class. But turbo must be faster than 458 and mp4-12c

will turbo s outrun latest gtr?

997 turbo s was quicker than the GTR (in straight line at least).

Trying not to hijack the thread, but the 997 Turbo s was very underrated. just look the trap speed vs the SLS

go figure... how is it that british journalist always turn everything into a nationalistic competition??

It's Japan against Germany and Japan obviously loses and then it's the epic battle of Britain against Germany and obviously Britain wins (gloriously!) Smiley

Must be an effect of watching too many James Bond movies... (and the thinly weiled frustration of losing their automotive industry down to the last bit...)

considering the 991 GT3 is as fast as the outgoing 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0 and priced at the 997.2 GT3 RS level, I think/hope that the turbo will somehow also be even faster by a considerable margin. Certainly this model will be the first to see weight being the biggest gaining ground as I doubt Porsche wants to slim down the extensive options list. Performance wise it's already pushing things being AWD and turbo charged..  I guess a TTT setup maybe, will be interesting.

Offer a manual that no one wants as standard so you can charge them $8K more for PDK without it being apparent in base price.

    No manual for 991 turbo.

RC and KRESO , what should be the 0 a 300km/h for 991 turbo and turbo S ???

Are you seriously asking this? Smiley

The 991 Turbo and 991 Turbo S will be fantastic performers but don't expect these cars to hit 918 territory, not even close. The 991 Turbo S will however beat Carrera GT performance, even the one up to 300 kph. This is all I can say for now.

    Dear Chistian,

I looked at the 0-300 figures at fastestlaps.com

    Porsche 911 Turbo S - 30.2 secs

    Porsche 918 Spyder - 27 secs

Porsche Carrera GT - 34,2 secs

So latest 997.2 Turbo S is already faster than Carrera GT and rather close to 918 time!!!!!! How could you comment this? or are figures wrong and you have other ones?

Re: 991 spyshots thread (continued) (for UNRELEASED models only) Thread Closed

The 918 Spyder will be faster than 27 secs.

    MP4-12C - 26,5 secs

    previous version (591 hp) - 31 secs 0-300 kmh

A tune and simple bolt-ons would be enough to wake up the beast within indecision (that pdk better hold up or it till turn into a grinding machine in the lower gears)

    IMHO

Turbo S should be tad faster....

    Turbo should be tad slower...

Regarding prices... 991 Turbo S will be around 50K Euro cheaper then MP4-12C in Germany, both with similar options. That speaks enough for me regarding any comparison.

I haven't seen those yet. It looks GREAT. I like the wing and I think it will look even better raised. The side vents are mildly covered up but I think they will look more organic that the previous ones.

Lack of a manual in the Turbo is costing Porsche Dealers in US sales. A number of my friends who were considering the 991 Turbo have place orders for the new Corvette because they can get a manual transmission. Granted the new Corvette may not equal the 991 Turbo in performance, but we still want the driving enjoyment a manual transmission provides.
