Funny How the wives tend to not understand our obsessions with cars; my wife sometimes comes and asks what I'm reading and when I tell her its about cars she sometimes jokes tha she thought I was checking out a porn site because of all of the time and attention I spend on the computer.![]()
Speaking of wives, I didn't want to tell her that I got the PSE and I had to drive her in the 997S somewhere. And I just made the RC mod that morning. I really had to feather the throttle so as to not be obvious that there was a difference in the sound. I bet she was wondering why I was driving so slow.![]()
hahaha, that's the porsche spirit i'm talking about socal alan! doing it w/o approval from the wifeyou sly fox!

To me PSE is similar to a little kid attaching a card near the spokes or tread of a bicycle so that it sounds cool. Just an illusion - no substance.... maybe a little ricey??

I don't get the analogy. Bicycles aren't suppose to make noise.
A Porsche's engine and exhaust sound is part of the experience. Part of the fun. Exhaust sound for any sports car that is.
The PSE just makes that experience more lively. Louder, more enjoyable.
More like hooking up better speakers for your stereo then attaching a card onto a bicycle.
You really have to hear it in person and live with the difference driving the car for a while to appreciate it. It's hard to describe the sound modification.

Stratdale: You are probably right. As it is, I already feel a bit conspicuous in my car (even in the Bay Area), I can't imagine drawing anymore attention to myself (even if this isn't the point of PSE)!
As this is only my first P, I'm sure I will eventually get over my modesty!

Do you notice the metallic sound when starting the engine from cold? That sound is no longer there with the PSE.
