    I saw three of them last weekend in front of the dealer (out side showing area) Black, Red, and Yellow looked really nice. To my surprise they also had 5 997S available too.

    It is amazing how much the CGT resembles the '98 GT1 when it is painted white!

    Amazing with all those cars - Only 5 997's. (combined all variations). No 2005's. The 5 cars are 2006's which means they probably aren't in stock yet.

    At the end of June there was 20 CGT sitting on dealer's parking lot, representing around 32 days of sales...

    Regarding 997s, there was 141 cars (Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera Cab and Carrera S Cab) in stock.

    For the 997, it is very close to zero stock or JIT (Just In Time) delivery.

    Keep in mind that in the US, usually customers hate to wait for a car therefore it is "mandatory" to have cars sitting outside .... while in Europe, Porsche dealers have zero new cars available ....

    As a consequence, the option take-up rate is lower than in Europe (for Porsche) and fewer cars are going thru the "Exclusive Program". For European customers, it is more or less a built to order process.

    Owwww man... It is really terrifying what amount of greed the sight of that car awakes in me... I feel like I just HAVE to have it! Luckily for the owner, I am a good guy... :P

    I just settle the value of Ben's CGT with the insurance company. Because they were not familiar with the car, they hired a professional exotic car appraiser. He surveyed the entire country and his conclusion regarding the value of CGT's was pretty grim.

    Fortunately, with some arm twisting, I was able to get a decent number for Charlotte, Ben's widow.

    These cars are radioactive when considering value.

    Professional insurance adjusters are paid to beat down the perceived value of any insured loss. Why such surprise?

    Or, was he actually working for you and not the insurance company?

    Mike he met with a couple of dealers and surveyed others. None had a kind word to say regarding the CGT value. BTW I knew going in it would be a battle based on comments on Porsche boards and talking directly with dealers in the SD area. Hell they were selling new ones for $416,000. Apparently in other parts of the country they were selling new for even less. Sales managers were indicating there are "no legs to the car".

    Ben had over 2000 miles on his.

    very sad to hear, sometimes i wonder what's the point of having insurance

    i my experience they NEVER EVER give you even 70% of the car/item's value so why pay for supposed "full coverage" if it really isn't...

    and i'm glad to hear that ben's insurance covers track days. mine doesn't.
