    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

    Mike S:
I suspect the reason why the allocations have been so thinned out compared to normal. Is that a lot of them are now going to the emerging markets such as China and India.

China won't be getting the 4.0. US is getting about 130-150 cars, depending on who you believe.  Initially, 220-250 cars, but the numbers got cut.  Not sure where these extra cars are going...

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

To me knowledge it is the same as for the GT2 RS. Customers were informed last friday, and orders have started ! Cars are expected to arrive either end july or begining of september.

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

I ordered mine on Monday. I hope i will get it before the summer !

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

My german dealer has one allocation(which is already sold...I know the guy who gets it, I went to school in Switzerland with him Smiley), he may get a second one and thats it. Not many cars out there and no, this time Porsche will not increase production figures as far as I heard.

Before the summer is very unlikely because first deliveries, if nothing goes wrong(again), start in July. Smiley

That is strange then, none the less the allocations are really hard to get. Wonder where the other units are going to?

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

Russia? South America? India? Middle East?

US doesn't have the buying power like before, very good idea to cut their allocation, since most of that will be unsold sitting at show rooms driving down prices.

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

Has nothing to do with buying power.

Attitudes have changed and track cars selling for over $200,000 do not make sense.

I agree on this one. I always wonder why people assume that the economic situation in the US is that bad? Just compare the US unemployment rate with the one in Spain and you get a hint. The US has a problem with debt and this is something US politicians should seriously look into it over the next couple of months, otherwise the Greenback will loose even more power or even it's position as the world leading currency. Very dangerous game Democrats and Republicans are playing, I just hope that the house doesn't get on fire.

Still the wealthiest country in the world...I see a lot more Lambos and Ferrari's than Porsches.

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

My order has been 100% confirmed today. It's within the first 20 cars worldwide, but the problem with that is I want PTS and that is only available at the end

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

Simple solution... you buy one of the early ones and another one with PTS. Seriously though, did you select a colour already?

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

With the cost of cars being x2 most countries, I'm not really comfortable with forking out 480k EURO. It wouldn't go well at the house

I need to find a way to move my allocation up till the end.

I can only imagine those conversations:

"Honey how was your day, did you buy any new cars?"

    Mike S: " Yes as a matter of fact I ordered a GT3 RS"

"A GT3 RS, you already have one?"

    Mike S: " No love that's a GT2 RS ... duh"

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

Finalised the order of mine last week and should be in the system today fingers crossed.

If all well, should be one of the early ones to enjoy it this summer, if not, it'll get built after the factory summer break with a delivery sometime in September I guess.

I think Mike S is refering to the TPMS, the tyre pressure monitoring system, it's standard in France, but maybe it depends on markets.

Mine will be white with decals (I love the decals actually, very RS in a subtle way, better than the 3.8 but not as cool as the 3.6 imho) with white wheels.

and a few options like PCCB (minus 20 kgs unsprung weigth), bits of carbon inside and comfort creatures like full leather (with CGT seats still) PCM and Aircon.

To compensate for the Aircon, I ticked the light battery, expensive but you save 10 kgs.

This car will be a road car predominently but a fantastic training tool on the track to train for my Cup.

    Can't wait!

Reading your specification put a smile on my face. IMO perfect Smiley

Only one thing: I  would consider GT-silver rims, though. White exterior with white wheels is little like 1980s tuned Mercedes, perhaps?

    Futch,

you are a man of good taste and I have to agree with you that the decals on the 4.0 look better than on the 3.8. Not too fond of the decals on the front bumper though. Have you considered the rims in GT-silver?

I personally would go with PTS as Mike is inclined to do. White exterior paint and rims are an easy and quick alternative, though.

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

Has the UK allocation been out already?? Still no news from my dealer.

    Re: GT3 RS 4.0

    Thank you gents,

Yes of course Mike S meant Pain to Sample, and he is right, it does indeed take much more time to deliver.

Yes I have considered silver wheels and backed out, this is car is beyond bad taste with it's front decals and the massive PORSCHE on the rear wheels, the white wheels are very german, love it!

Like my 968 Clubsport, white with white wheels, very tacky and yet, fabulous!

If you're gonna go racing colors, you might as well go all the way, I mean I have a white 910 with red flames all over it for crying out loud!Smiley

That is just epic, white on white is just fine for the 4.0 with decals as well

Mike S, are you thinking Gulf Blue PTS?

indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine..  I happen to like both :)
