AMG ONE

The AMG One is finally ready.

Now Mercedes and Red Bull can finally battle off track too with this and the Valkyrie.

Personally I like the Valkyrie better, 11,000rpm V12.

Gordon Murray's T50 just became old news. Either of these 2 are so much better, much more of a driver's car with the dual clutch transmission so one can keep both hands on the wheel for maximum feel of the road.

Surprised Gordon didn't put carburetors on his engine to keep the old timer theme going with the manual gearbox.

I saw a video from remove before race and when he said that this engine will find it's way eventually to the C class in a certain form (V6 1.6) it's game over for the car for me. Nothing comes close to Cosworth in comparison.

If I had the money they would go to GMA, even though I am not sure I understand the choice of gearbox. Surely Gordon has his specific ideas where some might not be overly modern, but on the other side I am very impressed with the speed he and his team has developed this car. The engine seems to be a masterpiece.

I think the Aston will drive 10 km, and then sit with the mechanics for a few weeks and then being repeated over and over until the owners are not willing to accept this anymore. The Merc I have no idea about, but again I could be concerned that the car has been delayed over and over. There is a reason for this and likely due to challenges which did not find solutions as easily as Merc had hoped. I hope that the solutions chosen are not causing issues in the future.

All three engines revs to over 10,000rpm, but the T50 has the easiest job, smaller displacement V12 with small pistons.

The Mercedes is second, engine was already in existence and they only had to adapt it for street use. Which is why it has taken so long, it's not easy to adapt the F1's engine for street use with the hybrid system.

The Cosworth V12 is the gem, it's not easy taking a 6.5L V12 to over 10,000rpm.

It certainly is a weighty addition considering that the ICE power plant is good for less than 600 hp. Evidently that whizzo four electric motors and battery offset any potential lightness to that platform.
