996 Cup Car
I have searched the archives looking for information or reference to a site containing information about the 996 cup cars. no luck as yet
Do any of you know of any site which contains this information so that I can better understand what the exact technical difference is between a GT3 clubsport for example and the Cup car, let alone the obvious like no carpets, full welded cage, air jacks etc.
Secondly, do any of you have any idea how much more expensive it would be to run a cup car for private track days (no competition with standing starts etc.) compared to a GT3 clubsport? Isn't it basically the same engine in the road car and the race car?
Thridly, I have understood that the drive shafts on the Cup cars often break (happened to 5-6 cars at the last race at Hockenheim). Is this due to the standing starts or is it inferior quality? Logically, since they have standing starts the cars should be able to survive them I would have thought...
Thanks.
Jonas
