STRADALE:
I've seen 2 Jeep SRT's on the road this past week. I REALLY Love they way it looks in person, very muscle truck looking, aggressive. Sorry for the horrible pic quality , took w/ my iphone while driving
Dumb question: How much would the SRT be in the US ? Fully loaded with options and with dealer rebate (I suppose there is one...) ? I would definitely take one of these home if the price would be right. Since you're looking for a family SUV replacement...

So 60k USD for the SRT8, incl. discount...not bad for such a truck.

Whoopsy:
IF you only consider the performance part of the equation.
The interior plastic is so bad you don't even want to touch it with gloved hands.
On the last Jeep SRT I'd agree but on the new vehicle I disagree completely. Interior is done EXTREMELY well.
I got my first in person look at the inside & on the interior I agree w/ everything I've read from every mag I've seen on the interior including this guy:
"The interior materials are top notch. The deep-bolstered SRT8 front buckets are excellent. The interior quiet and cabin timbre belong to a European executive saloon. If this isn't the best-built American vehicle, you'll have to show me one better."

RC,
In the US - Here's an idea for what people are paying, as w/ RT. you know to pay attention to actual deals not claims of what someone boasts they COULD get. Basically right now it seems that any deal @ or under MSRP is pretty good. Seen/heard about some getting $2-$3k off. I wouldn't pay over sticker for anything, especially a Jeep but some dealers are getting it but I'm sure not for long.... Net deals, ebay etc you could probably do better but I doubt I'll ever buy a new car on ebay.

$54,470 is base but realistically w/ DVD group, Luxury group, audio (825 watt Harman Kardon); loaded you're looking at $65k

I wouldn't go so far as to say interior overall is Porsche 911 quality but it's extremely good for a $54k vehicle (considering the interior is the same $54k or $65k loaded) if not the best I've seen anywhere near that price .. I had the painted silver trim on my 997 S Cab so I know what you're referring to but honestly didn't really examine those pieces closely so not sure, I was looking more at the CF & leather & just overall appearance... I will say that the CF dash, door strips are better done on the Jeep SRT then on my 997 Porsche Turbo.
"The vents at either edge of the dash mask the dash-to-door gap better than nearly any other vehicle on the planet, giving that part of the interior a high-quality appearance."
Spotted another, got a few minutes of following behind, next to checking it out......Rolling & in person it looks very aggressive but not obvious. Many people I'm sure won't even give it a second look but car guys will definitely appreciate it's overall look, stance, the proportions are just right, it's muscular looking without drawing attention.. Really like the way the body flares out around the wheel wells & the wheels just fit perfectly for an SUV, like clean side window lines better than just about any other SUV too.... I'm digging this vehicle, looking forward to a drive:
