Car unlocked???

Has now happened a few times and is getting a little disconcerting.

A few mornings now I ahve come down to the car to find it with the front hood popped and the dors unlocked, as if the button on the key has been pressed.

I am extra careful about locking the car and I am sure I am not pressing the key.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Yep - used to get this in the early days... it's most likely the buttons on the keyfob being pressed accidentally. Try swapping the keys on your keyring around a bit, that might help. Just a case of getting used to it, but the design of the key is a bit rubbish in this department.

the worst one is where the windows are down a little.... (If you unlock and hold the button down, the windows lower automatically.)

Just been down to Mid Sussex and they have recalibrated the microswitch on the passenger side which apparantley is preventig the car from staying locked. Don't know if this is dealer BS or fact, but will keep an eye on it.

After driving away, I discovered 300yrds up the road that the radio no longer worked and just said 'Porsche' on it, so an about face and back to the OPC. 5 mins later and a radio re-boot and all was well.

So morning wasted, but car sorted, hopefully.

Interesting about the radio - last time my car was returned had the same problem. As the dealers so far away spent some time on the phone with them - basically ended up pulling a couple of fuses, leaving the car for a while, and then replacing the fuses - all has been fine since - I suppose the stereo equivalent of CTRL-ALT-DEL! They've volunteered to hook it up to the diagnostics whilst the car is in this week to see if they can identify what may have caused it, although to be honest that's the least of my worries.

Yea, the radio seems to throw its toys out of the pram after the OPC computer has been hooked up.

By the way regarding the Radio, does anybody else get the word STOP written across the acreen sometimes after it gets turned on. It is fixed by ejecting the CD and putting it back in again.

Not concerning, but annoying. I guess it shouldn't happen in a car 2 weeks old.

If you're wearing tight jeans, you'll always have this problem. I'm wearing jeans and I also have my pockets full of other keys, credit cards, usb stick, etc. since I don't have a wallet. It happens ONLY to me that the doors are unlocked or the front hood is open, my wife who carries the key in her handbag NEVER had this problem. Whoever is responsible for the design of the key should do his homework again because it is a lousy design regarding the accidental pressing of a button.

Maybe you should stop wearing tight jeans, or, get yourself a handbag
