    Are the front bumber air intakes made of carbon fiber or matte finished plastic?

    Sorry guys, but so far I am not convinced. There is no logical link to between the airintakes and the F1-intakes from decades ago!
    The bumper has no stylistical connection to the upper part of the car (fenders, hood) and looks to me as if it was fitted on aftermarket.

    I know that you guys don't want to hear this but I personally wouldn't buy the car judging by these pictures. I do hope though that the car will look much better in person!

    I like the car overall, more than I thought I would.
    But that front bumper, I know it isn't designed for the looks in the first place, but for better aerodynamics, but still, I don't like the bumper, at all.
    I love the rest of the car, but the new rims are so way better than those CS rims which don't fit the car, just like the front bumper..

    Looking at that front, I can imagine it was a quick and dirty redesign that still incorporates internally what was seen on the leaked shots/ Farina drawings from many months ago that generated such negative feedback , i.e., that gaping squared off toothless " smile " . That's probably why the new ovoid front grills and the geometrically complex Enzo -like rear seem so visually disjointed.

    This aims at what I was thinking too! The front and back end don't have a senseful connection though you might interpret a "from past-to-future" message in there...

    Precisely I do not even think that it is only about taste but let's just see how the car looks in public. I still have hope! Any reason why they picked that particular F1 front-nose design? Anniversary? Anybodies birthday?

    I am kind of surprised that it is supposed to have the CS's power-to-weight ratio. According to AMS's review the CS was much heavier than Ferrari claimed - handing out kerb and not dry weight for the 430 might be a sign that we are talking about serious numbers. Anyways, considering that this car, just as the 360, is only 100 kg lighter than the 996 TT despite aluminium chassis and only RWD is kind of surprising to me!

    Sounds like 430 is only 250 lbs lighter than 996TTS (and 150 lbs heavier than 996GT3), but about 100 lb-ft short on torque (vs 996TTS) and significantly weaker on basic safety features/engineering (side air bags, crumple zones, etc.). P has to be smelling blood in the water as it designs the 997TTS...

    about the nose of the car ........ this is taken from the '196 SP & 248 SP' from 1962 , one of these cars was also next to the F430 on the special presentation day on 20/7
    see the pictures ...

    I LIKE THE WHOLE CAR !!! and I'm expecting mine late oct, beginning of nov.

    This is the same situation as with the 612, the F430 is a jumble of Enzo and 360 mushed together with whatever else comes to your mind when you look at the new car.

    There has been a F1 car with a similiar airintake, if I recall correctly.

    I find the 612 more forwarded in terms of design, I still stand to my comments above.

    The high-revving Ferrari V8 has the advantage of a shorter gear ratio compared to the Porsche and I would be surprised if it wouldn't be accelerating faster at high speeds - at least compared to the 996 TT!

    Not to mention the F156, and the 330 TRI.
    Ferrari used this nose treatment alot in the 60's.

    Of course it looks like a 360, it's a upgrade of that car!
    Just like the 328 looked like a 308 and the F355 looked like the 348. That comment doesn't really make sense now does it. This car looks awesome!

    If anything at all Im afraid your comment does not make sense, AT ALL. Did I say that the F430 doesn't look like a 360? No, I said something completely different. Think before you type. AND re read my post.
