    UK Nav questions

    Hi Guys,

I picked up my new C4S Cab 2 weeks ago. It was a May build 06 Model year. I have a couple of questions.

I thought the latest version of PCM Navigation allowed for destination input via post code. However, I just can't seem to find this option in the menus. The PCM manual confirms that their is a selection via post code option, but doesn't seem to indicate how you get to that option. May just be my own stupidity but any ideas on where I might be going wrong?

Also, I am slightly dubious about the version of Nav disk I recieved with the car. Label on the disk says it's 'Europe 04.2005' part number 997.642.255.03. Now if I am understanding this correctly, this is either an April 2005 or Q4 2005 release of the Nav disk. Surely on a May 2006 car, this is not the latest disk? Any ideas?

Finally, I note after driving the car, that the engine grill remains very warm to the touch for a matter of up to 5+ hours after running. Is this normal?

Many thank in advance for your assistance.

    Re: UK Nav questions

Just select address and key in the postcode. There is no seperate option to select. Prepare to be disappointed though, it only takes the first 4 characters of the postcode, from there you select the street and house number.

I haven't checked my disk, but that date sounds about right. They don't create new disks every month (or even every year)

    Re: UK Nav questions

This is how it works. Prehistoric compared with Alpine, JVC, Pioneer or even Tomtom postcode system as it is only partial. Start by entering the postcode into the "town" line ....Link for how it's works..

    Re: UK Nav questions

Is there not a bolt on Nav package which provides reverse routing and full postcode search? I was hoping this can be retro fitted as I never really thought it would be usefull, but I should have got it at the time of order.

I'd say this was pretty normal - the new engines are really tight until run in properly. With the weather in the UK recently being so warm I'm not surprised there is significant heat build up. Mine has 8,000 miles on the clock now and is still warm at least 2hrs after driving.
