    It snowed a little (pics)

Woke up and it was snowing. As we get very few snow days a year its always somewhat of a special occasion. So I took the car out and took a few pics by the lake behind our house.

    Very good looking car kiss

However, the Sport Chassis front spoiler looks like an afterthought or like a snow plough in your local weather conditions. I wonder if it would look more integrated (and better), if Porsche had it painted?

A clear case of form follows function of course, but couldn't it be made better looking?

Many thanks for the pics.... great car in a great location..kiss

Reginos makes a good point regarding the front spoiler - have you thought of having it painted yourself?

Nice photographs. Smiley    The subdued colours also reminded me of how good black-and-white photographs can be made to look.

    Thanks to all.

R, you make a good point and its certainly something I may consider. I do however like the contrast/combination/balance of silver and black of the tires and rear diffuser. The other issue to consider is the practicality of replacing a damaged lip. It does get scrapped every now and then and a painted one will be harder to replace.

Re: It snowed a little (pics)

A retractable front spoiler would have been a good idea for Porsche to consider. Extending at speed and getting back into the closed position for looks and ground clearance.

I think it's a matter of the colour of the underground. When there were the first pics of the Sport Chassis front spoiler on the street, everybody liked it and said how goodlooking it is in comparison with the standard spoiler. In these pics on snowy underground the front spoiler is just so more protruding, at least it looks like this. Also the perspective of the pics may be disadvantageous.

Rossi, you're quite right on both counts. The white of the snow and the perspective of the pics has a part to play in accentuating the lip and color. I'm happy with it as it is but will keep an open mind about it. If I do get it painted, I will do the rear part around the exhaust as well.

Re: It snowed a little (pics)

I think the spoiler looks great, painting it makes the car look "heavy". There is a reason why the lower parts ar not painted and it's not just cost saving

I'm normally not a fan of silver, but in combination with the darker wheels it looks fantastic.

Re: It snowed a little (pics)

IMO the whole front bumper on the Sport model should be different, not just adding a bigger piece of plastic on the lower part. They could limit lift on the car by a bespoke and more attractive front instead of manipulating the standard bumper, for the sake of cost cutting. At best they could devise an active spoiler, variably extending at speed.

I've seen this "horny" spoiler on a dark Agate Grey car too and it still looked like a very rough and ready solution enlightened
