If you are really keen, my mate has ordered 4 of them and will use some in VLN. Just let me know and I get you in touch.

    Re: Cayman GT4

Got my factory collection date confirmed and booked in today - 13th Jan!  Car is actually ready from early Dec but with the christmas closure and pre-bookings this was the best date I could get.  Given that's going to be mid winter I'm looking at options to transport from the factory gates back home rather than risk a long drive in ice/snow, but undecided at the moment on this.

Anyway finally getting excited now as its all starting to fall into place and with christmas in the way I'm sure it will be mid Jan in no time at all. Thanks again to Reginios, without whose kind help I wouldn't be in this fortunate position. kiss

I thought the sport seats were easier on the gluteus ? what seems to have gone wrong here ? a kardashian butt  that accepts bucket over sport seats

I'm having a hard time believing the owner didn't fit in the sport seats, this is considered to be an S-Class type of seat in the sport cars segment heart

My 2 favorite bucket seats from Porsche

I think you kind of misunderstood the whole thing. The guy wanted bucket seats, what do you want him to say? That he doesn't like the standard sport seats? So best excuse to avoid offending the "next" owner is by saying that he didn't fit into them too well. Smiley

For the track, the bucket seats are a must but for road driving, I think the sport seats are much better.

The article says, he couldn't fit in the sport seats and spent most of his time on the highway, so why would he want a bucket seat which is tighter and harder to get in or out Smiley

The fact that he's hoping to get $20,000 over MRSP might also be a factor.     Smiley

This is probably the amount he has to pay that dealer to get a new car with bucket seats. Smiley Smiley

Maybe he got a slot at MSRP - not all dealers inflate the price.. Still doesn't explain why he didn't order them in the first place though..  Hard to imagine someone interested in buckets originally spec'ing sofa seats.

I guess a possibility is he originally bought a locked allocation.

You forgot that bucket seats for the GT4 weren't available for a while (and basically still aren't...I think).

    Re: Cayman GT4

I like the buckets better on road and track.  If the GT4 was my only car, I might consider the Sport seats (probably not very seriously), but the bucket seats make driving the car far more engaging on any type of serious driving.

They are available again, but now with a 10week delay again.  This is about the 3rd loop of delays/unavailability

As I pre configured my GT4 two weeks ago, bucket seats aren't an issue, not even in terms of delay... Only PTS is not available anymore for cars ordered after July 24th. For the cars ordered before that date, the delay for PTS announced was 6 months.

    Re: Cayman GT4

Ah yes, forgot about the delays.

    Re: Cayman GT4

Are the buckets different in various markets like in the gt3 [NZ Gt3's had "GT2" seats]?  Sun won't sit in his NZ GT4 buckets for another month, but I wonder if they have the height adjustment US buckets have....

    Re: Cayman GT4

FWIW: Euro Buckats has height adjustment

    Re: Cayman GT4

P11 - Full Buckets aka Lightweight Buckets/918 style are height adjustable but do not fold.

P03 - Sports Buckets are not height adjustable but do fold.

    only 300 will be built

Modified ABS from Production car with 12 different mods, cant be turned off

    PSM and traction control

    7. Gear of PDK locked

Front axle from 991 Cuo, rear axle modified GT4

    Brakes from cup

different packages from Manthey available i.e. fuell tank configuration, Recaro seat instead of OMP seat, quick refuelling option and so on

Yes I would agree - but there has been a shortage of supply with the P11 seats on and off, so the P03 seats were added in as an option fairly early on to substitute.  I agree though that folding makes little sense in a Cayman, but there are some people who believe the P03 seats are more comfortable. All rather personal I think, but its nice to have an extra choice.

Fantastic, thank you for posting. I just don't get it. If the demand is so high, why would they not produce a second run of another 300 cars. It's not like VAG doesn't need the cash. Why limit your business to ~$50M when you can have a business of ~$100M  - Unless the Motorsport division is only capable of producing a max of 300 cars (due to other programs)Smiley
