    Carrera GT

    I just received notification of a "Completion Date" from my dealer for my car - March 8. Have others on the board received such information? For those on the board who have, or will shortly, be taking delivery of their car, is it true that we will be going to the factory to take delivery and a day of instruction? Larry

    That is correct.
    A one day driving course is included at the time of the factory delivery in Leipzig of your Carrera GT.
    I am still waiting for a completion date,mine is a production May.

    My production date was "Not later than February". The March 8 "Completion Date" would fit into that production date, more or less. Thanks for the verification of the factory delivery plans. Very exciting.

    thanks. someone with a may build date was just told september so i am glad to hear yours is on time.

    May production,delivery week 37.
    I should get a completion date next week,hopefully in June some time.

    nope CF, someone else we know has a may date but was just told september.

    Here some new info from my dealer after a check with the importer:
    - the rumored production drop from 500 to 300 for 2004 seems not to be true.
    - PCCB: same marketing blahblah as we know, with the mention that brakes might need to be replaced after a hard drive on the track.
    - max production still set at 1'500 cars.
    - smaller and thicker steering-wheel not available.
    - gear-lever: a non-wooden lever is being designed. (I guess they had many complaints about it...)
    - 4-/6-point harnesses: not available at the moment. (maybe later?)

    Guys,

    The latest issue of "Panorama" says that the CF seats are not available in the U.S. Were any of you told this at any time during your order process? If this information is accurate, do you know what the replacement seats are?

    yep, i saw that too but figured since it was the first time i'd seen it, it was a mistake. sure better be.

    That's a mistake,there is only one type of seats available for the Carrera GT.

    Carbon Fiber bucket seats in two sizes (width)

    Four combinations if one considers wide vs. regular and normal vs 10mm thinning of the seat pads.

    I agree that the carbon fibre seats not being available in the USA is a mistake. Probably a mistaken continuation of the GT3 seats not being available in USA.

    I don't know what order guide you guys are talking about; but these are the ONLY options available for any USA Carrera GT;
    that I am aware of. Larry, your car should be finished on the
    "Completion Date", plus the transport time; to get it to the states. Perhaps you are flying it ? Take Care, All. Revvv

    Sorry,
    This file is what I want to show you all. The fact there is only two seat options; standard and wide. The difference is only about an inch. Most people would opt for the wide version.
