    Third installment 997 pics!

Hope you don't mind me sharing and if anyone gets bored of me posting pics on my days off let me know

What a day - one minute sunny the next this...

Pics were taken an hour apart!!!

Oh and dealer called me and I need to keep the car til Monday!!!!

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

More great pics, Steve, thanks for sharing.

    Enjoy your week-end!

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

Imageshack provides the option to report your pics as 'offensive' content....it's offensive that you're having such a great time in a courtesy car that we can only dream of!!

    Great pics...thanks for sharing.

The service guy has been great. They even had the car booked out on Monday to a VIP and they found him something else!

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

Well Done pictures! Tell us a little bit about what you used to take then and what you did to sweeten them.

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

    Beautiful pics!
Are you using a grand angle?

    Fantastic!

Really great pics - thanks for sharing.

Something tells me that you might end up switching to a 997 at some point in the future...

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

You can never get tired of a timeless design. Great pix. Thank you!

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

I love the 997! Sooooo want one but I would miss the Boxster for the top/down days. The power is scary but good! At least I got the car til Monday. The colour is growing on me as well but I would love one in Basalt Black, GT Silver or Seal.

    Yes, indeed! Thanks Steve!

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

    I want your camera

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

Steve, i watched most of your pic posts and i think you are really talented. You always find the best angles for snapping cars.I think you should send some of your pics to EVO or any other uk car mag.Your pics are far better that most of them, and by working sometimes for a car mag you would certainly be able to test the best cars on the earth. What do you think ?

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

That would be the best job in the world! I love driving and photographing these cars!!

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

How do you find the 997 compared to your Boxster ?

    I have just traded my 987 Boxster S for a 997 (non-s) Cab.

Upon initial driving I still preferred the Boxster S - I felt it was better balanced into a corner.

Now I have started to learn how to drive the 997. Even the non-S cab is noticeably quicker out of a corner and has the extra thrust of power that I always felt the Boxster S was missing. This was probably because the chassis felt like it could easily take more.

The 997 feels more fidgety - lighter at the front but its actually planted. In fact I got the Boxster out of shape a few times getting on the power not managed that with the 997 even in the wet - the 997 has unbelievable rear traction.

I have found with the 997 you need to feel the limit over time (I was feathering the throttle because I did not think the car would remain planted in a corner on full throttle and so on). The limit is a lot higher than you think but you don`t want to push it just in case.

The Boxster S is a fantastic car and only swapped because we have a child on the way and will need the extra seats.

I was a little underwhelmed at first but now I love the 997 and appreciate what a step up it is in pace and driving sensation - BUT not easier to drive.

However, lets face it these cars are all something special - Porsche certainly know how to make a drivers car !

At first, like you, I felt the Boxster was better initially. The more I drive the 997 and get a feel for it, the faster I can go, the better I drive it.

This afternoon I drove a stretch of road with amazing twists and turns and just could not believe the progress I was making with this car.

It is simply stunning and I really don't want to give it back now!

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

" ..... I would miss the Boxster for the top/down days."
Steve, rumor has it that Porsche makes a few 997s with a top that goes up and down, just like on your Boxster.

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

Yeh, but I like the sunroof on the 997! Got to give it back tomorrow! Now done 600 miles in 6 days - oops

    Re: Third installment 997 pics!

Steve - I would really like high-res wallpaper versions (1440 x 960) of your pictures if you can.
