Another Fabspeed system installed
I've also recently installed the Fabspeed quiet exhaust and Fabspeed headers and I can only say the system is really spectactular and worth every dollar. The new sound is intoxicating, I've gone out and started the car at least a dozen times just to listen to the burping and gurggling. There is zero drone, and it's just as quiet as the factory when you need it to be, yet it will make you giggle under full throttle. As others have said, the car should come from the factory this way!
I did the install myself. The components are first class, and fit perfectly. Although Stephen says it's a 4 hour install job for the exhaust, I would venture to say that it's not 4 hours the first time YOU install it, maybe after you've installed two or three systems it could happen in 4 hours. You must have all the right tools, spare studs and nuts, a lift, good directions and plenty of penetrating lubricant.
When Stephen finishes his new step by step, write-up for the 997TT install (hint, hint, wink, wink), you will be able to see for yourself if you have the time and ability to tackle the install or not. I personally think it's definetely a DIY project if you have the time, access to a lift and have the right tools. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the install experience.....I can certainly understand why $400 at the dealer would be money well spent.
Thanks to Stephen and Jemery at ImagineAuto for great pricing and service, both before and after the sale.
