    Too much Carbon?

posted in wrong forum yesterday. I am final ordering Speed Yellow TTCab, black interior. I am thinking of ordering every carbon option to break up the monotomy of black interior. (had that on 996 cab since 2001). Seat backs yellow? Do they come in carbon?? Is yellow stitching available?

any other thoughts?? Need opinions guys please!!!

    Re: Too much Carbon?

I do not believe the seatbacks come in CF. For a cab I would definitely do something with them - either painted or all leather.

I have the basic CF package and CF switch panel package and it looks great. Everything else is leather - rear center console, door finishers, etc. I think (IMHO) there can be "too much" carbon but if you like it, than go crazy!

Yellow stitching is available. Just be sure you do a lot of research so you make sure you check all the right boxes. If not you will have some items that have the std. silver stitching like the shifter boot and e-brake. Should look great but if possible you should try to see some deviated stitching in person.

    Re: Too much Carbon?

I think carbon is great! Especially in a black interior. (carbon in lighter color interiors makes them look too jazzed up).

Reason I like it? It's the latest fantastic technology so why not surround yourself with it, in a tasteful and even non-functional manner, especially if it looks aesthetically pleasing?

    Re: Too much Carbon?

where do you see the list of boxes to check off for the stitching and various other options??

    Re: Too much Carbon?

Following are the stitching options. It IS available in yellow.

24891 Front And Rear Seats Stitching In Deviating Color
24901 Dashboard Stitching In Deviating Color
24902 Door Stitching In Deviating Color
24903 Door Handle Stitching In Deviating Color
24904 Deviating Stitching On Central Console Side
24905 Rear Side Panel Deviating Stitching
09991 Deviating stitching on all exclusive options

In order to have the shifter & handbrake in yellow stitching you must order DAD option & 09991. (At least for Model Year 2007) I wish I could say I figured this out myself but credit goes to Atomic80
I ordered a lot of Carbon also, but since I also ordered deviating stitching, I ordered the console in leather. Thought it looked great with the stitching.

Good Luck with the wacky world of Porsche options. I am sure it will be beautiful. The picture below shows the console, shifter & handbrake with the stitching & the other shows what happens to the shifter/handbrake without the DAD and 09991 options

    Re: Too much Carbon?

Sorry - don't know haw to put 2 pictures in one post

    Re: Too much Carbon?

In the second picture, notice the shift knob does not have deviated stitching and then there's the little piece in front of the shift boot has no stitching. You can prevent this glaring oversight. To do so, order the DAD - Aluminum shift boot and e-brake handle and CDZ - Shift boot trim in leather.

The first picture shows the shift knob/e-brake in aluminum (DAD) which has the deviated stitching. You would need to get option 09991 which ensures that ALL exclusive items get the deviated stitching. The aluminum shift/ebrake is an exclusive item so those items would be covered.

I've attached a picture of option CDZ as circled in red.

In a black leather interior 911 Turbo, one can NEVER have too much carbon:

    Re: Too much Carbon?

It's always amuses me that for the workers in Porsche's plant, don't they sense there is something wrong with the order when they put in all the interior trims and the stitchings don't match or missing? Could it be that the Germans are really robots in disguise or they just think it's just another quirky Porsche owner who wants to be different?

    Re: Too much Carbon?

I'm fairly sure the 997 carbon is different from (and therefore nicer looking than) the 996 carbon.

    Re: Too much Carbon?

I have the small carbon pack, however I didn't want the carbon wheel so that's since been replaced.

I even got the dealer to put it on the correct side of the car...

Hopefully you can see the bits that are 'carbonised'

    Re: Too much Carbon?

Here are pics of my interior. I went with basic cf package and cf switch panel package. Went leather everywhere else.
