Wheel balance and alignment
I am coming upon 3,000 miles and I was wondering what the concensus is on when to get the wheels balanced and alignment done. I was thinking about the 5,000 mi point for the wheel balance. I was hoping to get at least 10,000 mi out of the rear tires (do a wheel alignment at this point) and hope to change the front set when the second set of rears are purchased (at about 20,000 mi)--I know the tire wear part of this question varies quite a bit depending on driving style, etc. But is this a reasonable expectation? And do most of you have this work done by the dealer. I have had my wheels scratched on other cars when having this type of work done at tire dealers.
