    Config question

    I've narrowed down the list of options and am still undecided on the base coupe vs. S model. I'll get the bi-xenons and PASM regardless. Would like to hear if anyone had this similar question before ordering, and which direction they went.

    If you intend to get 19" wheels, go for the S. If you order bi-xenons + PASM + wheels, you're already at half the difference - and you'll get the rest at resale. So it's like a free 30 HP bonus.

    (That, and the brighter Aluminum-Look trim in the C2S looks better than the Volcano Grey trim in the C2. )

    Got PASM on my S, what's so great about PASM? Good for tracking the car, just a minor curiosity for road use. I use it when I get frisky on curves or passing fast.

    My rule of thumb for deciding things like this: if you can afford to _blow_ the extra us$10K get the S.

    Do you like the "fake" quads? Do you like the high-fashion, stiffer-riding, more vulnerable 19s? I figure I tolerate these annoyances to get the extra HP.

    Oh, the bigger brakes and Litronics are good for safety.

    The Groom said it all. If you substract all the extras that come standard at the S, the price difference is negligible. Nicer interior and bigger brakes (!) do the rest for me. And finally it's good to have the extra power.

    The only thing I like about the non S is the exhausts. They look better than the quads on the S IMO.

    Although I'm no fan of the fake quad exhausts of the S (because they are fake), I think they still look better than the rather boring ones of the non-S.

    If you've driven both...

    The answer should be pretty easy.
    You either can't tell the difference in performance, or you can't believe how big a difference there is. Or the difference in performance doesn't matter to you. Whichever is the answer to those statements should tell you which car to buy.

    If you haven't driven both extensively then get your a*s down to the dealer and spend a good half day or day driving both on roads you know really well.
