That's a bit too narrow focused?

There are other brands that's worthy of giving a try.

Have you seen it in person at Goodwood, crayphile?

It looks tiny compared to modern supercars, so the driver's head looks comparatively large sitting in the middle.

    Is it really that ugly?

Of course, and you know I do my bit in that regard Smiley. The point is if you are not in the  "one of everything hypercar group" -  which is the core of the Pagani, Bugatti, and dare I say it T50 client base  - then who has 70 years of design, innovation, and racing history? Two brands tower over the rest, and that is the core of any enthusiast's car collection - not look at me I have one of everything..... Project One (if ever delivered), Valkyrie (if ever delivered), Jesko, and Gordon Murray's hideous T50. Would I rather spend the same money, or more even Smiley,  on a T50 or the finest RHD 275 GTB4 in existence for my collection - I think you know the answer.

Yes, and unlike many cars it was even worse in person.

I for one don't hate the looks of it that much. Sure the fan is hideous, but on the S rear treatment it's borderline forgivable. Given the net worth of most people ordering these, I suspect it wouldn't be the craziest thing for someone to ask to have that rear sans wing (or a version of it) on the road car. I know it would be my first question.

    That is true.

Way back when, I passed on the Project One, I didn't think Mercedes, no matter how good they are, aren't up to par for doing hyper cars. Thought extra long and hard for the Valkyrie but ended up passing also, didn't think they were financially sound enough to finish the project.

I admire Pagani but would never buy one. Never trusted Murray could finish the T50 but looks like he found enough backers.

Bugatti however I am warming up to. Almost put in an order that time I was at the factory but didn't go through with it. In the back of my mind I still want one, but I have no where to go in one. In the 918 at least I have enough room for luggage for road trips, not so lucky in the Chiron.

But maybe I am getting older, more and more I am looking at older cars, something that's 'underpowered' by modern standard but it's the experience that counts.

That is not as a consequence of getting older but rather of getting wiser instead. Modern sportscars thanks to our politicians are becoming less about the experience and emotion  and have offer instead more bragging rights and fractional performance in the real world to still grab your attention. Cars like the GT3 or Huracán are less and less common and those left have they days counted.

The soulless, unemotional and boring EVs will be the final nail in the coffin, nothing more than fast appliances to use and discard.

    Re: Gordon Murray - T.50

Having think about it more, I think it's more about the 'hunt'.

Face it, any new car can be bought, one doesn't have to hunt for them, it's just as simple as going down to the dealer and pay for the car and done.

Buying old cars is a very different process. I enjoy spending the time trying to decide the what, then tracking down suitable ones and then the deal and receiving part. Also the decision to whether fix stuff or keep the patina.

Another thing would be modern cars are so fast now, there is no good place to enjoy. Older cars are relatively slower, one can stay on the gas for a much longer period of time without getting into much trouble.

I would think that for someone like Dario, the fun in working on a project like that as well as a free car would be a win. for GMA, that cost could easily be borne.
