SIAS

The Seattle International Auto Show was lame!

As far as Porsche, there was no Carrera GT, no GT2's, and no GT3's. There was just basic "showroom" cars. The Turbo and C4S cabs were nice to see in person. Apparently the International Auto Show has recently started, but the "no shows" can only be seen at shows like Los Angeles, NY, and Detroit.
I'll post some pics sometime this week.

I forgot to mention......the guy at the Porsche booth said the 997 isn't coming out till fall of 2005!
Who know's for sure, except Porsche themselves.

Fall '05? I guess that makes sense if the plan is to introduce the new Boxster first in '04.

I understand that the cars Porsche sends to the "smaller" autoshows are left for the local dealers to sell. I live in Dallas, we have 2 of the top 10 US dealers here and we didn't get anything more spectacular than an X-50 Turbo Coupe and a Cayenne Turbo on a rotating dais. Of course the GT3 hadn't yet been released when we had our show.

Hi JP66,

Do you think the sales rep at Porsche will tell you, the 997 is coming very soon.... He doesn't want to be out of business for a while and he has quotas to do.... Unless you know him very well and you're a loyal client he won't tell you the very nice C4S Cab for example that you're dreaming of will be discontinued in the near future ....

Hi Eric,
Yes, I just took what he said with a grain of salt. He just said he is connected directly to the corporate website and even though Porsche hasn't said when it is truly coming out, this is impression he got. I agree that he wouldn't say (if he knew) that the 997 isn't coming out in order not to loose 996 business. He did however, tell me that the C4S is going to be fazed out of production. I still plan to get one

Hi JP66,

Go for a 996 C4S, it's a great car and above all, I love its look... To be honest, I don't think it will be discontinued before a year at least.
