    fragile aircon/ventilation louvers

    I don't know whether this is common or just me, but this is a second time that I have damaged the ventilation louvers on my 2005 997S. The horizontal louvers will move up and down, but the vertical louvers control broke loose. I am able to change their position only by sticking a pen inside. I am quite surprised about how delicate they are, since I did not abuse them in any way, nor did I have this happen on my previous vehicles. Anybody with similar experience? Is there any tried and proven fix other than buying a new complete "module"?

    This was a common issue on the early 987s, so I presume Porsche have a proper fix...?

    Part numbers for MY06 onwards cars are different to 05's - revised part available , doubt you will be lucky enough to get a free exchange under warranty/goodwill

    Two years ago, I was looking for a used Cayenne and I found this issue on almost all ones I've see...

    However, my current 06 Cayenne Turbo S is OK after 18 months.

    I have the same issue on my 05 997s. vent on drivers left side. haven't fixed it yet.

    I had the same issue twice on my 05 car. First time was at delivery and the second time was last year, both instances were fixed under warranty of course.
