    '05 GT3

    Does anyone have any information on the 05' GT3? Just wondering if there are any changes planned. Thanks.

    Dealers in the US have been taking orders for 05 allocations. No changes that I've heard of. It will be the last of the 996 based GT3's for sure.

    I have placed an order for one with an October build date. The dealer isn't sure if any changes are planned, so I thought I would ask here.

    CJA, a datapoint for you is colleague of mine just got a new '04 GT3 blk/blk from SF region dealer at $4K off MSRP w/alternative offered of having '05 GT3 (Oct) built to-spec at MSRP. May want to stay tuned to what '05 GT3s are sitting on dealer lots in Fall (esp in colder parts of US) so you can reassess alternatives if desired.

    Thanks VKSF,

    Was the dealer simply discounting the price on the 04' to move inventory, or were they implying that the 05' was going to be diffferent in some way and therefor would not be discounting it?

    This new '04 was sitting on dealer lot, and my friend just walked into dealer w/his checkbook and offered MSRP minus $4K, and dealer accepted. No changes to '05 expected; dealer was just not willing to offer discount on an ordered car to a customer who had not bought prior P's from this dealer. I suspect that GT3 (esp given its lack of AWD/PSM, etc) is a fairly tough sell in mkts like Chicago and NYC (let alone Cleveland, Minneapolis, etc.) once Oct build cars arrive in Nov/Dec amidst snow forecasts, etc....thus I smell discounts. Every Fall, I seem to get calls from industrious brokers trying to move unwanted supply from East at attractive prices into possibly more receptive hands in LA/SF.

    Makes a lot of sense. I will definitely keep my eyes open. I would love to save some money if I can get the same color I ordered, (white) with the same options (xenons & thicker steering wheel)...
