The lettering fomt and background colors need serious work for eye strain issues. Drop the box that tells who just came online - gets in the way and who cares.

Actually I didn't say you are narrow-minded, I just said that you (sometimes) think narrow-minded. Smiley

When it comes to the X5M for example... SmileySmiley

You can't even imagine how much (and well) I thought about my X5 M decision. So I'm not sure I get your point. From a performance point of view, the X5 M is at the same level as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, minus the "offensive" look/reputation and of course minus the 30000 EUR I paid less for the X5 M with similar options.

Since the X5 M is my family car, I really didn't want to throw out the money. I was actually lucky I had the final performance specs of the new Cayenne Turbo more than 6 months ahead of the official introduction. Otherwise I would have ordered the Cayenne Turbo blindly. Maybe I should shut up now...don't want to put anybody in trouble. Smiley Smiley

I have no regret whatsoever that I've chosen the X5 M (which surprises me too) but I'm a little bit p.ss.d at my wife because she lately decided she wants to fly more and drive less. So I'm not sure if such an expensive family SUV actually makes sense anymore for us. Smiley

Smiley you are funny RC! Just think about driving to school or shopping... there is plenty of space in a family SUV. And - you wanted it to be fast, you never would go for a slower Diesel!

BTW - I prefer flying and even train (only high speed ICE) nowadays, too. Its just so much more convenient than sitting in a small car, standing in a the traffic jam.

Solution for you - get a GT3 next time, send wife and kids by plane and you follow by car!

Re: Rennteam Staff Meeting in Stuttgart 4-6 Sept 2010

Right now I'm in a fight talking her out of a Cabriolet because it really doesn't make much sense in Germany, no offense meant.

A 991 GT3 would be just my perfect car in the future but I highly doubt it is going to happen. We can't afford having a garage queen, so I guess our next cars will be a 991 Carrera S (Cab...if my wife doesn't back off) and a family car, nothing expensive but as fast as possible (example: the Audi Q5 3.0 TDi does 0-100 kph in slightly over 6 seconds, so this would be a good start).

    Women...try to understand them...impossible.

Years ago she was afraid of flying and we were driving even to Sardinia. Now she hates driving and she gets very nervous when we travel more than 300 km at once. I hate to say this but I think my wife is getting old(er).

I hope she doesn't read this, she would kill me.

No, she doesn't care about my speed, she has confidence (19 years together, 17 years married, she knows how I drive). Thanks god, no nagging wife next to me, telling me that I'm driving too fast.  Smiley

Sometimes she even asks me if I can't go faster but I usually respect the speed limit(s).

John, I appreciate you're keen to see the improvements Smiley AFAIK Eunice is working on it - but please bear in mind that implementing these changes and also maintaining the Rennteam site are things he does voluntarily on top of his normal day job

I'm certainly not complaining - far from it..

It was just that it's getting on for 3 months since your meeting so I thought I'd give the thread a bump..

Thing is, if you love doing this stuff it becomes a little bit of an obsession.  Creating something that actually works in "computer coding land" is quite a buzz.  Eunice obviously enjoys it which is proof of how the forum has developed.

Well done Eunice and everyone else associated with RT.

Agreed with Conny. Been here since i was in high school haha. Always been a great forum, and i'm amazed how it has remained such a positive and intellectual community over all my active years. It really is unheard of in the fast moving and changing internet environment.

A gigantic Rennteam Meet next summer would be really cool. Your location statistics could probably pin point a central meeting point somewhere in the middle of Europe.

Re: Rennteam Staff Meeting in Stuttgart 4-6 Sept 2010

    Belgian coast?

Easy acces via chunnel, pretty fast from Germany etc...

I can arrange a small RT-journey through flanders fields?

When it's no problem i'm porscheless at the moment... The R8 is a niece i presume?
