Is 3250 too much for PSE?

Got a quote to have PSE installed on my 997 with Sports Chrono. I was quoted 3250. Is that too much for PSE?

Re: Is 3250 too much for PSE?

That's about right (parts & labour) from a Porsche dealer. I know others have had slightly lower quotes though.

Re: Is 3250 too much for PSE?

have you had a chance to really hear it? I think that if it were taken away from me, I'd pay that or more to have it back.

Re: Is 3250 too much for PSE?

Have not heard but everyone seems to love it. I guess the price is fair.

Re: Is 3250 too much for PSE?

I do love it; however, it just seems fitting to have the stock exhaust if you live in a place like Don does. I'd feel guilty disturbing nature every time I drove anywhere around there...now & then maybe.

Re: Is 3250 too much for PSE?

That seems a little high .
I had it installed recently at Brandywine Porsche in Pa.
Total installed cost ( with switch ) was $ 2340

$1720 for the mufflers etc. and $ 72 for the front switch .( If you have sports chrono, you don't need this switch )

    Per Porsche, labor should be:

    # 26 01 31 03 = 330 TU for cars with sports chrono
    # 26 01 31 00 = 440 TU for cars which require a new front switch panel .
    (TU = Time unit i.e. 330 TU = 3.3 hrs)

PS: Do it , you will love the PSE.

That does seem high. Retail price for PSE is about $2200.00-$2300.00 and you should be able to get some kind of a discount from that. Even if your local Porsche parts dept. won't discount the exhaust, the total price should still be below what you were quoted.
And, like someone stated, if you have sports chrono, you won't need anything else.

Re: Is 3250 too much for PSE?

Yes I thought it was a bit high as well. I might do another mod like get the carbon wheel instead.

    Thx...

Re: Is 3250 too much for PSE?

Recall that with the order it was $2400. Clearly it may run a bit higher as a retrofit.

In my opinion, I think you will get more enjoyment from the PSE than the carbon wheel . Lol

It's sad that this is the case! When you spec PSE, it costs you $2400 plus your stock exhaust that was already included in the price of the car. Porsche gives no credit for the stock exhaust...ridiculous! Same for the carbon brakes.

I assume that since Porsche doesn't allow you anything for the used parts that they would be returned to you after installation of the PSE or PCCB's--do these parts have any value on EBAY, etc.?

Re: Is 3250 too much for PSE?

I just talk to another dealer and got a price of 2700.00. I do plan on selling the exhause and chrome muffler tips on Ebay unless someone wants it. Anyone know what it would be worth or what I should ask for it?

jcs, Thanks again for your help! Last week, I got the pse done by Brandywine for the same price. I also did the SSK the same day. They did a great job, just as you said!
