    Tiptronic with leather trim option

    Leather PCM

    Galvano silver seat controls

    Yellow seatbelts

    Adaptive sports seats

    No Turbo emblem

    Front end

    Porsche crest up close

    Leather dome light

    Leather rear mirror

    Yellow seatback

    Rear seating

    Passenger seat

Straight on shot of leather dome light

Nice! Is this car spoken for?

    I believe that it is.

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

Wow, that is a lot of leather. The gear trim option looks like a no-brainer for those going w/ tip. That piece is really nice, and only $310. some of their prices just don't make any sense to me. You would think that, compared to some other leather bits, that gear trim should cost a lot more based on what they get for some other stuff.

Same thing with some of the CF stuff. The entire rear center console in CF is $1,600 yet the dopey (what does that make me since I ordered it) CF switch panel costs $2,700! That makes no sense to me.

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

Nice. I also went for the yellow once except with dark brown leather. I think this is one of the most beatiful leather colors P has to offer. Should look very nice with Yellow. Should be produced at the end of Feb.

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

Some of the leather finishing details are a little shoddy - e.g., steering wheel by tiptronic buttons. PAG does not do the best leather installs IMO, unfortunately.

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

A turbo with a full leather interior should include all that in the price for craps sake!

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

Porsche door panels used to not be so short at the bottom or the side edges as to show the paint color.

On yellow 911's its really glaring and cheapens the atmosphere inside.

I hope for 08 that Porsche will be a more generous with door panel materials.

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

Were did you buy the PCM cover??

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

It's 2.230 for the PCM leather package.

Completely insane. For all that added leather you could buy a ford focus.

    What a gigantic rip-off.

You're right. I'd just choose the PCM painted in black. That looks better and is cheaper .

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

I completely agree! I love the customization that is available however, the two things I do no like are:

    1) The cost is exorbitant
    2) Addition after build/delivery is proving to be extremely difficult (needlessly), exacerbated by the difficulty many seem to have adding in the first place.

..all said and done I still love the leather 'tip lever' surround..

Porsche could have done so much better in the interior by choosing either aluminium or carbon for the centre console. That would look so much more worthy. But that plastic is typically Porsche.

You mean the Aluminum PCM Exclusive option is actually plastic?

And yes, I agree with you regarding CF - that would go together great with a full-carbon interior.

Porsche calls it Aluminum-Look for a reason.
There are only two genuine aluminum options in the 911:
    - DAD Gear Lever & Handbrake Aluminum & Leather
    - CFP Handbrake Aluminum & Leather (same thing but intended for Tiptronic cars. The Tip selector is not available in genuine aluminum.)

That said, aluminum-painted plastic does have its advantages over genuine aluminum. Maintenance (i.e. not having to remove fingerprints every 5 minutes), to begin with.
And isn't Carbon fiber a fancy kind of plastic anyway?

If Eric the Plug Guy reads this, do you have any plans to make a CF PCM face plate in the near future? Porsche does not, yet I'm pretty sure many of us would be interested...

The Porsche Exclusive Aluminium Look options look EXTREMELY cheap. I could not believe it when I saw a car with lots of Alu Look stuff in Zuffenhausen recently. Really ugly

Personally, I would strongly recommend to order PCM in leather. By ordering this option (together with some more standard leather stuff) the interior is elevated to a different level in terms of quality and style.

You're a real EXPERT when it comes to exclusive options Groom (thank YOU for that), but I felt the need to say (not meant in an offensive way) that it is not Aluminum (Crash) but AluminIum.
Not a big deal, I know, but it also sounds better

I speak US English, so I spell it ALUMINUM.

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

What does the a pillar b pillar and c pillar leather options do? Does anyone have pics of this?

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

I don't have any pictures, but here's what in each package:

    DAA Interior Package A-Pillar Leather:
Switch panel end trim (sides of the dashboard, which you can see only when you open the door)
    Ignition lock surround
Side mirror controls and base plate

    DAB Interior Package B-Pillar Leather:
Belt outlet B-pillar (also available separately as option CDU, or in many different trims e.g. carbon, makassar...)
Belt height adjustement trim on B-pillar
    Clothes hook on B-pillar
Clothes hook on front seat backrest (also available separately as option CVY)

DAC Interior Package C-Pillar (not available in Targa 4/4S):
    Rear belt outlets
    Rear air vents
Luggage stop on reat seat backrests
Rear seat release levers (also available separately as option CUX)

If in doubt, have a look at the German 3D configurator. Each component is shown.
FYI you'll be looking at the options "Interieur-Paket A/B/C-Säule Leder", the very first 3 Exclusive leather options.

Boy! That sure makes me feel good, since I've ordered a lot of the Aluminum Look options. Nice to know I've got a POS coming in June. I'll keep the M3 thank you.

In the end it is also a matter of taste. However, I would strongly reccomend to take a look at a car with lots of Aluminum look options. Just to make sure you won't be disappointed when your car finally arrives

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

Interesting. Buy a Porsche and pay for a Ferrari. They really know how to upsale don't they.

Couldn't be any cheaper looking than the aluminum (plastic) in the M3. That was the cheapest part of my two M3s.

Re: Yellow 997TT with LOTS of leather!

This is just a question of taste (which is totally subjective). MKSGR was just expressing his subjective opinion on a matter of taste and you are totally entitled to your opinion
