Sebring Entries
12 Hours of Sebring
(March 18th) Speed Television 10:30am EST (US)
The new TD Audi's in P1 will go up against the challenging Dyson team (Lola), as well as the improved Porsche RS Spyder, who was very capable of taking overall lead in the 2005 season finale (leguna Seca).
As always the EPIC battle between Team Corvette and Aston Martin will be center stage, as the Aston's have been given a larger intake restictor, as well as a 50 kilo reduction in weight. The Saleen SR7 has also been given a larger intake restictor, and a larger fuel neck which will reduce refueling times considerably, while the Corvette's remain with their 2005 specs, but bring 2 NEW cars to the battle.
The story rages on in GT2, (former GT3) as Team BWM PTG is BACK with the famous E46 M3 in all it's dominating glory. Team White Lightning and Flying Lizard are atemptimg to continue their dominance in their Porsche GT3 RSR's. Rizi Competitzione is fielding a BRAND NEW Ferrari F430 Berlinetta. As always Team Panoz is looking to reclaim their win at Road Atlanta last year with a hopefull victory at Sebring. The famous Peter Kox will drive a pair of Spyder C8's to challenge the dominating RSR's.
Such a diverse field. Can the Spyder RS out pace the Audi TD? How will fuel economy have an effect? Can Corvette hold off a faster and lighter Aston Martin and Saleen. Is Porche dominance a thing of the past as BWM brings back their once banned M3? Will the F430 be able to wake up the sleeping giant Ferrari into coming back to sports car racing.
This year's event promises to be exciting with epic battles in every class! For those who are not familiar, Sebring is in the US (Florida) and was built over an old WWII Airfield. The race is a 12 hour endurance race that starts in the morning and goes well into the dark hours of the night. Sebring is one of the most challenging, bumpiest, fastest road courses in the US. This will be the 54th running of the race. Over 200k people are expected to attend! Sebring is the oldest running sports car race in the US, and is the season open for the world class American LeMans Series.
Hope you guys tune in! You won't be disappointed
