Had it booked for a thorough clean as with 2 dogs and a child the interior was a total mess, and the exterior wasn't much better given my own dislike for cleaning cars. Good to see it cleans up as new.

Took a detour over a very snowy Fluellapass on the way back from skiing. What a road. And the perfect car for the conditions (aside perhaps a GR Yaris on snow tires 🥺)

I love snow much more than the sea although I live on an island and I am very familiar with the sun, sea and the beach. I suppose it is a matter of wanting more what I don't have in large quantities or for long duration.
We have a 2000 mt. mountain that gets snow every year for a couple of months or so. So, there is some familiarity and I actually learned to ski there.
I also enjoy driving on snow covered roads, especially when I had a Mitsubishi Pajero 4x4 (Montero, Shogun) short wheelbase with centre and rear differential locks.
Of course nothing compared to the magnificent Alps. I've traveled to A, CH,and F and to a mountain in BG in order to enjoy snow and skiing. Les Arcs and Avoriaz in France are top places for me, if I consider everything.

Gnil:Took my Carrera S to hide in the mountains for a few days. Pretty tricky to get the car moving forward at some places.
Reginos : this is very close to Avoriaz (same skiing domain)
Yes, I remember crossing from France to Switzerland on skis without knowing that the cafeteria at the bottom of the slope was in another country. I was scared at the time that I might be accused of illegal entry and be arrested

You guys have snow?
I was in Stuttgart last Sunday, it snowed like hell...for 10 minutes and then it was over. For a moment I thought I wouldn't get home (I was with the Z4).
When I arrived back home (Bavaria, near Munich), we had around +4°C again at around 8 pm in the evening.
No snow here.

Anyone else running AMG's experience excessive break wear? Every 20k km I have to replace my discs + pads, I understand 2tons and >700hp has an impact on it but that seems like a lot. Would have enjoyed ceramics on this car.

Any news on the Ferrari front?
Awaiting their proposal this week. Meanwhile they’re still trying to figure out what the fault actually is. 😂

With the M5 CS imminent, the curtain falls over the E63 S. What a car this has been, absolutely faultless, absurdly quick for a family car, spacious, a V8 burble to die for, ... It had and has everything, for me the best car I've owned.
Goodbye my friend.

I think you made the right choice. For me, I will always take a M5 over a E63. Always had the perception that the E63 is a one dimensional car that only goes very fast in a straight line while the M5 is the all around athlete that does the straight line stuff and the twisty bits equally good.

But that's really not true for this generation of E63, it's a very dynamically pleasing car. Certainly not a one dimensional autobahn rocket.

Yes I know, I rode in the current gen E63 before. Very impressive. But it's just an old accepted thinking.
I also much prefer the BMW interior more, feels purposeful, dynamic. Feels like a German car. The screens and stuff in the Mercedes feels out of place in a German automobile.
