    FVD ECU Upgrade

Well, picked up the Turbo a few days ago in stock form...loved the looks in every category car, but, the car felt a little tired. Sport mode really didn't do that much for me either. Coming from a modded 996tt, I really didn't notice much of a difference. In fact, I was a bit disappointed (please no chiding).

Until now - had the FVD ECU installed and the car came alive. 180 degree turn...Wow. Absolutely the best mod one can do with the car...so, so much more responsive...quicker...much less lag...'torqueyer'...all around faster in every category.

Also, no issue with the Tiptronic button at the end of the throttle. I mashed the peddle a # of times and received no lag (per some other tip owner's issues).

Too bad the damn mod cost 3K, but, worth every penny in my book.

Good for you, one question though: what kind of mods did you have on the 996TT that made the 997TT feel "tired"?

If he had a chip and exhaust, that would pretty much be as fast if not faster than the 997TT. On the other hand, if he had K24s...

Chip, exhaust, diverters, filter. IMO, difference between stock was huge.

    Re: FVD ECU Upgrade

I agree. My 996TT had diverters, K-24s, Giac chip and Ruf exhaust. Documented 490HP at rear wheels. I would say though that the 997TT I drove was about as fast, and less whip like when the boost came on. A modded 997TT would clearly be preferable to my old 996TT.

OK that makes sense, but was it a TIP as well? I think part of the problem with the new TIP is that you have to abuse it to get all of its potential, could it be that too?
btw I am with you all the way with your 997TT mods, mine is modded and it is now a different animal

    Re: FVD ECU Upgrade

i would like to upgrade my ecu... wich upgrade is the best?

they change my ECU for another one, or just reprogram over the stock one? gains, without exhaust?

    thanksss
