That's not a 917. It is a 956. You can see he passes another just as he gets on the straight.

Now imagine doing that in the middle of the night, no lights (except yours), and GT2 cars that are running 1/2 your speed....

I have sweaty palms just doing 165mph on a road course in broad daylight.

The Derek Bell movie should be an entirely different one - Bell is commenting his lap & there is similiar footage of his Nürburgring Nordschleife lap.
