Got a go with a boxster

Now we're talking. It was a new 987 with manual gearbox.

It was raining all day here in brussels so I didn't push it too far as I had no previous experience with a sports car.

It was fun, the rain made it easy to let the back end run wild. It was really fun. After the useless cayenne V6, it was a relief to see that a porsche can bring a smile on my face.

What I loved most was the engine sound. A real blast. I was reving the engine at red lights just for the heck of it. At first, I had the radio on but I soon realized it was way better to kill it.

I can say that the 987 is also underpowered. You could really use the power of the S.

What I didn't like so much was the seats. Those were the std and they could have been a bit more comfortable.

Also, the brakes. The break pedal feels really different from other cars. It felt heavy and hard to push and the car wasn't slowing down enough. It was my first time with the famous porsche brakes, but the way they work is weird. It's difficult to explain. You really have to it the pedal hard to get some hard breaking. On an audi for instance, it brakes harder a lot sooner and with a lot less effort. I suppose there are made like this on purpuse, but it wasn't what I was expecting. I was expecting some out of this world braking that throw you out in the steering wheel. It wasn't the case. Maybe I should have it them harder, but I was on wet roads and it was my first time, so I was carefull.

This had to be the best job on the planet. At least when I get my hands on a porsche and not a golf diesel.

Re: Got a go with a boxster

    What job?

Re: Got a go with a boxster

read my thread in the cayenne section. I explain it a bit.

It's a job I got for a month while I search for a law firm to hire me.

I drive around in audi, Vw, seat and porsche all day long for the company that imports those cars in Belgium. All these cars are from the same group. Same company imports all these cars and they need people to get cars from one point to another. (supply dealers with the cars they need (demo, replacement, ... wathever)

These are mostly new cars with less than 10,000km on the clock. The job is like one big test drive. It's like going to an audi or porsche dealer and ask to testdrive (alone) all their cars.

Re: Got a go with a boxster

Sorry, don't usually read the Cayenne section. But congrats anyway =)

Re: Got a go with a boxster

Any chance you are working for Pon?
Sounds like a great job, and sounds like I should not order my porsche from the group you drive for

    Sounds like a great job!

Yes Porsche brakes are not over-assisted, but do work very well, especially from high speed!
