Are you sure you bought a Boxter and not a Boxster?
Of course there are other possibilities but I wouldn't really consider them.
Most repair shops who do aftermarket A/C installs don't have a clue about the Boxster and it is very likely that they'll mess up the whole thing.
So do yourself a favor and let your official Porsche dealer do the job. It may cost a little bit more but since this is an older car, you may be able to negotiate the install price. I'm not even 100% sure that a retrofit with Porsche parts is possible, just check with your local Porsche dealer.

Aldo, it would help if you tell me in which country you're living. Official Porsche dealers in Europe (EC) are actually charging by some sort of working unit table provided by Porsche. They can't charge what they want.
2000 Euro for front brake discs and pads, this is way too expensive. Unless you're not using the original Porsche brake.
I can't tell you how much a A/C retrofit costs but I'd say around the price tag as an option PLUS maybe 1000 Euro install cost or so. I really don't have a clue.
It won't be cheap though.

How about taking a short drive to Austria for the install?
Shouldn't take longer than a day or so, IF it is possible.
