Professor Gordon Murray awarded inaugural FIA Innovation Award

Legendary automotive designer, Professor Gordon Murray CBE, was honoured recently by FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile) President Mohammed Ben Sulayem for his services to motorsport and the automotive industry. The new FIA award recognised Murray’s innovative contributions to motorsport during his 20 years in Formula One and subsequently his creation of revolutionary new road cars including the iconic F1, Gordon Murray Automotive T.50, and T.33 supercars.
Responding to the FIA’s acknowledgement of his “exceptional contributions”, Gordon said: “I’m delighted and humbled to be recognised by the FIA, an organisation that represents the pinnacle of all things automotive. I’m exceptionally grateful to have worked with many inspiring people throughout my career in motorsport and the automotive sector. In creating our latest supercars – the T.50 and T.33 – I hope to continue to demonstrate how rewarding a career in the automotive industry can be to future generations of designers, engineers, and automotive enthusiasts.”
