    Two Things

    1) Where was the wheel/tire ordered from? And the bag with it?



    2) I also remember seeing the illuminated door sills. Anybody with pictures of this? Can this be retrofitted?

    i think it will, but this is more convenient in my opinion.

    I believe it's not a good idea to keep spare in the back seat over the long term. Depending on the tire compound (?) It will probably stink of rubber for a loooong time.

    The 996 compact collapsible spare fits in trunk no problem.

    A 18 or 19 FLAT will just barely slip past seats to fit in back inside car.

    The Boxster 986 spare will fit the 997S suspension/brakes,it has a mere 3mm clearance from calipers. BUT will have to be deflated fully to fit upright in trunk. Will fit fully inflated if you slant it. (not talking about collapsible 996 spare here).

    MMD, IIRC you got the space saver 997 spare for the front trunk, what did you end up paying in total for your spare kit..jack included, dealer?

    Hahahaha ,, hey in that pic above it makes a lovely back rest ..

    Also have you lads thought about sticking it on top on a Roof Rack..It would look nice ,, well no worse than the P Aero Kit .. .

    us$1K. Tire's like $700, frickin jack is $180! Nicely machined though. dealer's good. Get lug wrench from Griotsgarage.com, $15 good deal.

    I believe (?) that photo is from Isreel or Bulgaria, countries which REQUIRE cars to be sold with spares. I guess that's the ONLY way to properly secure it and legally sell the car. I also believe that's a BOXSTER (986) spare; which will fit on our cars.

    Yes, no problem, they ARE 996 parts, but everybody is using them for the 997s. They are "officially" endorsed for use in our cars even by the PCA.
