Porsche made that statement with the release of the GT4. The Motorsport 4.0 liter cannot be worked to fit the space of the 718 layout.

Big difference between will not and cannot. Smiley They also said the X51 engine cannot fit in the 981 GT4 (but BGB Motorsports made it fit).

There are times when one don't need the latest and greatest. Or the fastest.

I reckoned I probably would have more fun in the Alps in a GT4RS than the new GT3. On those narrow roads the smaller car is a better choice.

I think I would agree if I wasn't addicted to the Manual gearbox (I'm the crazy one who likes it better on Alpine roads as well as track).

Hehe, you are not the only one that likes rowing their own gears there. Smiley

Latest info (including paperwork that looks official) says GT4 RS gets 500hp Cup engine from 992, since then new 718 Clubsport uses this motor and street car homologates the race car…

Even says something about 9,100 rpm redline in the CS.

I think I saw something about 140k Euros. It'll be cheaper than GT3, I think. They may or may not reduce the power to under 500hp. But should be quick. I think its biggest limitation is the strut suspension at every corner. But when you have unfortunate suspension geometry, you can largely mask that by having very little suspension movement (stiff).

Being a manual gearbox nut, I'll still pay the extra for the GT3. But for someone who likes PDK, it should be very attractive option (particularly for those who don't have to pay over sticker price). And its smaller dimensions and intimate cabin size are both better than 992, imo.

GT4 is closed to 100K Euros.

GT3 is at 170K Euros

Plenty of space in between like 135K Euros for an RS starting point!

It will be a success. I want one!

So likely base price would be on par with a 992 GTS, if they put it in between the GT4 and GT3. I assume the usual allocation game will apply as well. broken heart

There are a few more interesting cars in the pipeline, not just the GT3RS, GT4RS, Spyder RS.

We have only seen one Heritage car out of the 4 planned.

Next up will be the Sport Classic barring any last minute changes.

well it is because of Macan and Cayenne that we still see RS badge and interesting variant in the sportscar platform. A Spyder RS is not an abomination if we look at Porsche history.

Why the last?

As you can read in the pic sent by Grant about future models schedule , a Spyder RS is due in 2023.

Untill 2025 there is space for full ICE, after that , with the incoming new regulations it will be more of a challenge.

GT4 RS will be available to order normally by the end of the month. Not many available at first.
