I just love 911s next to each other with 30 year age differences and yet full similarities...
Thanks for posting, I'd love a Speedster in this creme white they offer!
indeed shifting is ancient technology - so is a fuel burning engine.. I happen to like both :)

Thanks for the comparison pics Easy. Great pictures as always! LHD car in UK?
I must admit though that the 997.2 speedster is really one of few 911s I don't like. The colour could be one reason and in a more subtle colour it would be better. The old brother is great

It certainly has presence but the colour really spoilt it for me. I also don't like the hump - it's not sleek - just a bit 'deformed' to my eyes.
I think a more suitable colour would help - black, carrara white, silver ... something more suitable.
The car is eye-catching enough that it doesn't need a bling colour.

Did you guys notice - the second 's' in the rear logo of the 911 3.2 Speedster is a different style from the second 's' in the rear logo of the 997 Speedster.

Here's the second 's' in the rear logo of the 997 Speedster. I prefer this one.

I think the old one with the flat face on the top has more class, whereas this one just looks like someone made it out of icing sugar squeezed out onto the top of a cake.

I agree - the flat typeface looks better - the rounded curvature of the lettering spoils it - but I think it is also made worse by the spotlighting in the OPC.

I'm glad you guys found the photos interesting
@Gnil: to me, it just didn't feel 'desirable'. It does capture the attention - it has presence and the colour is impossible to ignore - but really, it did nothing for me. If I like a car, I usually feel something like: I wish I could have it NOW!

Thanks for the pictures!
These models do nothing for me either. The Speedster is just a send-up of a 50s idea without any cosmetic or driving benefit.
For me there are only 3 911s to choose from depending on budget and driving needs:

Thanks for posting the pics, nice comparison photos but I prefer the old one. But then again I might be biased because I use to own one.
That must have been a nice car to own - you didn't decide to keep it? They're pretty rare ...

Unfortunately when you are young you do not think of things like that.
