ISUK:Photo's of the X7 concept leaked prior to launch at Frankfurt. This makes the Bentayga look like a well resolved and tasteful design which is quite a feat.
What is wrong with BMW?

ISUK:It looks like they did...... a bad Chinese style copy of an XC90 from the side which is ironic now that Volvo are Chinese owned. They also threw in the side gills on the front wings and the continuation lower body bright work insert from a Range Rover Vogue for good measure
Gosh - if they already copy the most adorable SUV out there they better should make it right 
By the way - time for making this a Volvo thread. After having that car now for 9 months there is nothing else to say then - best SUV I ever owned. Super relaxed. Very reliable, fun to drive and the electronics gets frequent updates. Never missed anything. Sure - not a racer, not made to drive fast. But with 434 HP fast enough when required. The PilotAssist works excellent and really takes a lot of stress off driving (Autonomous driving Level 2 - means hands must be at the wheel but car dives itself.). Never even looked back a second to BMW or Mercedes SUVs.

WAY:Have not been on Rennteam for awhile. Life has been a bit crazy. So which thread did I choose as my first one to look at? The BMW X7.
Damn it is ugly. It's going to the between this and the Infinity going for the ugliest SUV award?
Ha - welcome back Wayne.... yes its ugly but I would easily prefer the Infiniti (your Nissan Patrol I believe) for a long journey on Aussie backroads... even saw quite a few towing caravans up in NSW last summer. But yes, the more interesting threads are around new Porsches that nobody can buy...

Thanks for the welcome back! We do have many Petrols here, which this ugly Inifinity is based on. However we have even more Landcruiser/Lexus LX570. In fact we are the biggest market for Landcruiser and the Australian market actually dictates the direction of that car. Unusual for us because we are a small market for cars!

noone1:The exterior is par for the course for a big SUV, but the interior looks great and that's what matters most on an SUV IMO. That said, it's a concept so it will end up as generic BMW garbage most likely.
I hate the interior as well. I like the Cayenne interior a lot (not so sure how much customers will love the touch buttons with tactile feedback, my wife hates them) but not the exterior. On this concept X7, I hate both, interior and exterior.

The only SUV I like right now from Mercedes is the GLC (and actually only the GLC63 because of the AMG GT grille and a few optical improvements) and the G class (the G class isn't exactly beautiful but it is a classic, I just can't ignore it).
